A big THANK YOU to the more than 80 students who attended Safety City 2026!

Last week, students had the opportunity to learn valuable safety lessons while having fun through hands-on activities and live demonstrations from our public safety partners. Participants got an up-close look at the work of the Fairborn Police Department, Fairborn Fire Department, Regional Emergency Response Team (RERT), Fairborn City Schools, Greene County Sheriffs Office S.A.R - Ohio. These demonstrations helped teach important lessons about personal safety, emergency preparedness, and the dedicated professionals who serve our community every day.

Safety City has been a cherished Fairborn tradition for generations, and we're excited to celebrate a major milestone next year as Safety City marks its 60th anniversary!

Thank you to all of the students, parents, volunteers, instructors, and public safety personnel who helped make this year's program a success. We can't wait to see the next generation of Safety City graduates in 2027!

We’re just 3 weeks away from celebrating America’s 250th Anniversary, and the excitement continues to build for Fairborn Community Independence Days at Community Park!

Over the past few weeks, we've highlighted the Fairborn Civic Band and Whey Jennings, and today we're excited to introduce another incredible performer joining this year's lineup, Thomas Gabriel!

Thomas Gabriel is the grandson of legendary music icon Johnny Cash and carries forward a rich musical heritage while creating a sound all his own. His music is real, raw, and deeply personal, blending country roots with life experiences that have shaped his remarkable journey. You can catch Thomas Gabriel on July 3 from 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Stay tuned as we continue to spotlight the rest of our entertainment lineup, including Party Punch and Zack Attack, as we count down to two incredible days of music, community, and fireworks!

A highly requested Johnny Cash cover and fan favorite. Enjoy "I Wa...

Beat the heat by visiting one of Greene County's Cooling Centers! With temperatures on the rise, it's important to stay safe and cool. If you need a break from the heat, visit one of Greene County's Cooling Centers during regular business hours. These locations provide a comfortable, air-conditioned space where you can cool down, relax, and enjoy a drink of water.

Heat-related illnesses can develop quickly, especially for older adults, young children, and those with certain health conditions. Remember to stay hydrated, limit outdoor activities during the hottest parts of the day, and check on family members, neighbors, and friends who may need assistance.
