As part of the Fairbanks Soil and Water Conservation District's Youth for Habitat program, local students are restoring 75 feet of riverbank in front of Doyon, Limited by planting native trees that will help reduce erosion, improve water quality, and create healthier habitat for Chinook salmon, chum salmon, and Arctic grayling.

More than just planting trees, these youth are helping protect one of Interior Alaska's most important waterways for future generations. Over the next two growing seasons, they'll continue monitoring and caring for the site to ensure the new vegetation thrives.

Small actions today are creating stronger riverbanks, healthier fish habitat, and a more resilient Chena River for years to come.
