Slate Valley Cares SVC is a grassroots organization helping neighbors in the Slate Valley region of VT since 1983.

Services include a Food Center & Thrift Shop in downtown Fair Haven, VT. Mission:

Fair Haven Concerned’s (FHC) mission is to recognize and assist our neighbors in their time of need. We offer direct services as well as connecting individuals or households with agencies or organizations that can better serve their needs. We provide help to those in need regardless of their race, creed, color, sex

or sexual orientation. Vision:


Our vision is to serve as our communities’ source of hope by providing services to meet the needs of our neighbors who may be struggling with food, housing, and fuel costs. Our ultimate goal is to empower our clients to become more self-sufficient and financially independent.

In case you didn’t know, our intern, Kerrigan, is graduating in just a few days! 🎓

To say we will miss her is truly an understatement. Over the last 9 months, she has become such a vital part of Slate Valley Cares, learning the ropes right alongside me and making a lasting impact along the way.

We are so proud of everything she has accomplished and can’t wait to see where her next chapter takes her.

Please join us in wishing Kerrigan the very best of luck in her future endeavors and as she continues furthering her education! 💙
