I am deeply grateful to House Speaker Rep. Joanna McClinton for the honor of offering the House prayer. It meant a great deal to me to share my faith through prayer and to lift up our leadership and all members as we continue striving to do what is right for the people of Pennsylvania.

Next Saturday, July 4, the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) will host a Fish for Free day to allow anyone (resident or non-resident) to legally fish on all Pennsylvania waterways. No license is required, but all other fishing regulations apply. This is a great way to expose the next generation of anglers to the outdoors! We had a super telephone town hall this month. At one point, we had over 1,600 callers join us! It was an enlightening telephone townhall with PA State Rep. Craig Williams, Chairman of the House Government Oversight Committee from Chester and Delaware counties. He is an incredibly knowledgeable attorney regarding electricity and power generation. We discussed the rising cost of electricity and the roles that data centers play in this space. We had so many great question from constituents who participated. I appreciated the opportunity to interact with so many constituents on a topic that is so important.

The next telephone townhall is tentatively scheduled August 31 from 4-5 p.m.

I had the honor of attending the 3rd Annual Juneteenth Celebration at Fairview Park in Delmont, organized by the Greensburg Jeannette NAACP. The day was filled with celebration, fellowship and an incredible sense of community spirit. It was especially meaningful to connect with Anita and Ricki and learn more about their vision for the park, and its future as a space that continues to bring people together.

Thank you to everyone who contributed their time, talent and passion to make this event possible! Seeing families, local businesses, community organizations, entertainers and residents from across Westmoreland County come together to celebrate history and culture made for a fun afternoon!

When a child experiences a sudden and dramatic change in behavior, families deserve answers, not barriers.

My HR 528 directs the Joint State Government Commission to study Pediatric Acute-onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome (PANS) and Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Streptococcal Infections (PANDAS), two often-overlooked conditions that can have a profound impact on children and their families. It’s often misdiagnosed, which delays treatment and causes insurance coverage issues. HR 528 proposes a study that will help Pennsylvania better understand the gaps in diagnosis, treatment, provider availability, and insurance coverage so we can identify meaningful solutions and provide families with the support they need. Raising awareness is an important first step toward ensuring that children affected by PANS and PANDAS have every opportunity to receive timely, effective care.

I had the distinct honor of celebrating a truly remarkable milestone- 90 years of life, service and achievement for my dear friend Maurice "Maury" Fey. Maury's life is a powerful testament to dedication, innovation and generosity.

Over an extraordinary career with Westinghouse Electric Corporation, he served as a Special Projects Manager from 1953 to 1992, earning more than 50 patents for the products and processes he developed. His professional accomplishments alone are impressive, but what truly sets Maury apart is his commitment to people. A recipient of the prestigious Jefferson Award, Maury has devoted countless hours to volunteering and mentoring and always strives to bring out the very best in others. He has also been a dedicated community leader, previously serving as President and Director of Westinghouse Service Uniting Retired Employees and contributing his expertise through the International Executive Service Corps. His passion for helping people grow and succeed has left a lasting impact on so many.

It was a true pleasure to present Maury with a House citation in recognition of his 90th birthday, which is a small token of appreciation for a lifetime of meaningful contributions. Beyond his professional and volunteer achievement, Maury is a devoted family man, surrounded by five children, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Ninety years of family, hard work and service is certainly something to celebrate. Congratulations, Maury, on this incredible milestone. Wishing my dear friend a very happy 90th birthday and many more years of joy ahead.

I had a great time attending the Franklin Regional Panther Foundation's Driving Excellence Golf Outing. It was a beautiful day for playing golf and even better to see so many people come together for a meaningful cause!

Events like these are a great reminder of how strong community support can make a real impact.

This event raised funds for academics, arts and athletic programs that provide valuable opportunities for Franklin Regional students. Thank you to all who participated and supported our students so that they can continue to grow and learn!

I was honored to join community members and government leaders in Delmont for the installation of the Rotary International Peace Pole at Newhouse Park. During my remarks, I reflected on the importance of striving for peace, understanding, and respect in our communities and throughout the world.

Thank you to the Rotaract Club of Delmont Salem and everyone involved in turning this vision into a reality. Projects like these remind us that even in challenging times, we can find common ground and work towards something good for the community. The flags surrounding the Peace Pole look fabulous! They added a beautiful and meaningful touch to this landmark. These flags portray peace in languages from seven countries in addition to England from where local populations have immigrated from, Italy, France, Portugal, Poland, Thailand, Hungary and Germany.

May this Peace Pole serve as an inspiring reminder of unity and goodwill to all that visit.
