The California Department of Food and Agriculture, in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Agriculture National Agricultural Statistics Service, recently released the 2026 California Citrus Acreage Report. Danowski brings more than three decades of executive leadership experience spanning agriculture, advocacy, trade association management, and marketing. Most recently, he served for 13 years as President and CEO of the Oregon W**e Board and Oregon W**egrowers Association.

GOOD NEWS!!! The U.S. Department of Agriculture announced plans to purchase $20M in fresh oranges and $12.5M in fresh grapefruit through the Section 32 purchase program! This program helps stabilize the market during periods of surplus by reducing inventory, which helps grower returns. Thank you to USDA for supporting citrus growers with these purchases!

Last week, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced the decision to update the federal standard for orange juice. Orange juice will now be permitted to contain up to 15 percent juice from mandarins and mandarin hybrids, a win for California growers who produce a large volume of mandarins.
