🇺🇸 Kansas City 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb

As we approach the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, we are proud to recognize several members of the Excelsior Springs Fire Department who once again participated in the Kansas City 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb.

Assistant Chief Zac St. John, Captain Jason Ortbals, Firefighter/EMT Jonah McKennon, Firefighter/Paramedic Trista Tharp, Firefighter/EMT Kaden Spear, Firefighter/EMT Ryder Rempel, and Firefighter/EMT Leslie Vassmer each took part in the climb to honor the 343 FDNY firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice on September 11, 2001.

Each participant climbs in remembrance of a fallen firefighter, carrying their name and memory throughout the climb. It is a physically demanding tribute, but more importantly, it is a promise that their sacrifice will not be forgotten.

Twenty-five years later, we continue to remember those who answered the call that morning and honor the firefighters, first responders, and civilians whose lives were lost.

We are proud of our ESFD members for continuing to represent our department and community through this meaningful tradition.

🚨 OUTDOOR WARNING SIREN TEST 🚨

The Excelsior Springs Fire Department will conduct its monthly test of the outdoor storm warning sirens today at 11:00 AM.

This is only a test. No action is necessary.

PRICES- We offer t-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies and zip ups. Short sleeve T-shirt is $15.00. Other prices vary per order.

Due to today's weather conditions, the monthly test of the Excelsior Springs Outdoor Storm Warning Sirens has been canceled.

Weather permitting, we tentatively plan to conduct a make-up test on Wednesday, August 12, at 11:00 a.m.

We will provide an update prior to the rescheduled test if any changes become necessary.

🚨 Outdoor Warning Siren Test – Today at 11:00 AM 🚨

The Excelsior Springs Fire Department will conduct its regularly scheduled monthly outdoor warning siren test today at 11:00 AM.

Routine testing is an important part of ensuring our outdoor warning system is functioning properly during Missouri's severe weather season. Like any emergency equipment, warning sirens must be tested on a regular basis to verify they are ready when they are needed most.

Outdoor warning sirens are just one part of a layered emergency notification system. They are designed to alert people who are outdoors that a dangerous situation may exist and to seek additional information. Residents and visitors should never rely on sirens as their only means of receiving emergency warnings.

We encourage everyone to use multiple methods of receiving alerts, including:

📱 Wireless Emergency Alerts on your mobile phone
📻 NOAA Weather Radio
📺 Local television and radio broadcasts
🌐 Trusted weather apps and local emergency information

For our guests visiting Excelsior Springs during the FIFA World Cup, today's scheduled test is an opportunity to become familiar with the sound of our community's outdoor warning sirens. If sirens sound at any time other than a scheduled test, seek additional information immediately and follow guidance from local officials.

Regular testing helps ensure this critical public safety system is ready to protect everyone in our community, residents and visitors alike.

Your Excelsior Springs Tigers are bringing home the State Championship trophy! 🥇⚾️ Words cannot describe how incredibly proud we are of these players, coaches, and the entire program. They went out there, left it all on the field, and showed the whole state what Tiger Pride is all about!
