Another fun week last week at Cornerstone! Mrs. Dice celebrated a friend’s birthday with a book from our Birthday Book Vending Machine, Coach Rulon’s students practiced teamwork while crossing the “river" on a "lily pad", 3rd graders investigated magnetism, and Ms. Morales’ 4th graders spent time building their classroom community. We wrapped it all up with one of our favorites—High Five Tiger Friday!

🧪 Our first Science Friday was a HUGE hit!

Our Tigers were busy exploring, designing, building, testing, and thinking like scientists!

👀 Kindergarten: Used their five senses to investigate mystery boxes and make educated guesses.

🔦 1st Grade: Explored light by designing, testing, and revising structures using transparent, translucent, and opaque materials.

🌎 2nd Grade: Investigated how land changes rapidly and over time by modeling erosion with different types of land and varying strengths of wind and water.

🧲 3rd Grade: Used their knowledge of magnetism to design more accessible clothing, combining science, engineering, and empathy to solve a real-world problem!

🏎️ 4th Grade: Investigated how ramp height affects a car’s speed and what happens to its energy during a collision.

🌱 5th Grade: Created models to show how plants get the matter they need to grow.

We LOVE seeing our Tigers learning through hands-on experiences, problem-solving, and deep thinking!

Today, our Cornerstone Tigers came together as a school community to pause, reflect, and remember September 11th.

Led by Principal, Dr. Jenni Hayes, and our music teacher, Mrs. DeLeon, our students and staff honored this important day in such a beautiful way. Together, our entire school sang “Make a Difference,” recited the Pledge of Allegiance, and observed a moment of silence in remembrance of the lives lost and the heroes who served.

It was a powerful reminder that even our youngest Tigers can learn the importance of kindness, unity, service, and making a difference in the lives of others. ❤️🤍💙

Our first round of the PBIS Tiger Ticket Store 🎟️🐯 was a HUGE success! Students have been working hard to save their Tiger Tickets by showing GRR each day:

🐾 Go Safely
🐾 Be Responsible
🐾 Be Respectful

And today, all that hard work paid off! Students got to cash in their tickets for some FUN prizes—including emoji stickers of their favorite teachers, stuffed animals, galaxy slime, and so much more!

A HUGE shoutout to our Safety Patrol leaders and staff members who helped make the store such a smooth, organized, and exciting experience for ALL of our Tigers! 🖤💛

We love seeing our students make positive choices, work toward a goal, and celebrate their success. Keep earning those Tiger Tickets, Tigers!
