🎆 New Year’s Eve Safety Reminder from the Excel Police Department🎆

As we get ready to ring in the New Year, it’s important to remember that New Year’s Eve is one of the most dangerous nights of the year on our roadways.

🚗 The facts:
• Nearly half of all Alabama traffic fatalities on New Year’s Eve involve alcohol impairment
• Nighttime crashes increase significantly between 8 PM and 4 AM
• Seat belts save lives — yet many fatal crash victims were unrestrained
• Speed and impaired driving remain the leading contributing factors

👮 What you can do to stay safe:
✔ Plan a sober ride before you go out
✔ Buckle up — every seat, every trip
✔ Slow down and expect increased traffic and patrols
✔ If you see an impaired driver, call 911

Let’s make sure everyone gets home safely and starts the New Year on the right foot. Celebrate smart, look out for one another, and help us keep our community safe.

Arrive alive. Start 2026 safely. 🎉🚓nt
