Ewing Schools are officially back in session this week! With buses returning to the roads and children walking or biking to school, we need every driver to be extra alert. Help us ensure a safe start to the school year by keeping these essential traffic safety tips in mind:

• Slow down in school zones
• Obey speed limits at all times
• Stop for school buses when red lights flash
• Never pass a stopped bus loading or unloading
• Put away your phone to eliminate distractions
• Watch for pedestrians at crosswalks and intersections
• Always follow the directions of our crossing guards

Expect higher traffic volume during morning arrival and afternoon pick-up times. Our officers will be conducting extra patrols around local schools to enforce speed limits and school zone violations. Let’s work together to make this a safe and wonderful school year!

On Tuesday, August 18, 2026, the Ewing Police Department will be conducting an emergency preparedness drill with PSE&G at Antheil Elementary School from 9am until 12pm. Signage will be posted on Ewingville Road while the drill is in progress. You can expect to see emergency vehicles in the area during this time, but please remember this is only a drill. There may be brief traffic delays during the time of the drill so we ask that you be aware of increased emergency and utility vehicle traffic in the area of the school. We appreciate your help in keeping emergency phone lines clear for actual emergencies during the time of the drill.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for another great National Night Out event earlier this week. Seeing our community come together on what was a beautiful summer night to connect and share good times is what this night is all about. A huge thank you to our law enforcement partners, first responders from Ewing Fire and EMS and Ewing Department of Public Works for joining with us to make this a successful and fun event for everyone. This also would not be possible without our amazing sponsors and vendors and the support of our mayor and town council members. We look forward to seeing everyone again on Saturday, September 19th at Ewing Community Fest!
