63 year old Maria Rein was reported missing on this date (6/1/2026). She was last seen on 5/31/2026 at approximately 1500 hours in the area of Greenway Avenue in Ewing. She was last seen wearing a blue jean jacket, blue shirt and blue legging pants. Maria frequents the Mill Hill neighborhood of Trenton and the Trenton Transit Center. Update 06/01/26 @ 6:05 am, the male was located and is back in custody.

The Ewing Police Department is currently assisting the Human Services Police Department in locating a patient that walked away from the Trenton Psychiatric Hospital at approximately 1:45 am. The patient, Christopher Vasquez, age 36, is described as a white male, 5' 6", 230 lbs, wearing a black Nike hoodie, white t-shirt, and grey sweatpants. Vasquez has previous tendencies of violent behavior. If anyone sees him, do not approach him and call 911 immediately. There are no known destinations for him at this time and Ewing Police units are currently searching the area for him.

63 year old Maria Rein was reported missing to this agency on this date. She was last seen this morning (5/28/2026) at approximately 7:00AM in the area of Walnut Avenue and Chambers Street in Trenton. At the time she was last seen, she was wearing a blue denim jacket, jeans, white sneakers, and a white necklace. Maria frequents the Mill Hill neighborhood of Trenton. ** APPLICANTS CANNOT BE A CERTIFIED POLICE OFFICER **

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION:
Graduation from high school or vocational high school or possession of an approved high school equivalent certificate.

AGE:
Not less than 18 nor more than 35 years of age at the announced closing date for filing an application for the position. In determining maximum age eligibility of veterans, the time spent in active military service during periods specified in the Department of Personnel law and rules will be deducted from the attained age.

NOTE:
Appointees will be required to successfully complete a training program mandated by the New Jersey Police Training Commission within 9 months of appointment.

LICENSE:
Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey.

CITIZENSHIP:
Must be a citizen of the United States.

MEDICAL/PSYCHOLOGICAL EXAMINATION:
As a prerequisite for appointment, candidates will be required to pass a thorough medical and psychological examination to be administered by the township. Any psychological, medical or physical condition or defect which would prevent efficient performance of the duties of the position, cause the appointee to be a hazard to himself/herself or others, or become aggravated as a result of performance of these duties, will be cause for rejection.

BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION:

The Ewing Police Department is excited to announce the return of our Youth Academy, taking place July 20โ€“24, 2026!

This FREE program is open to Ewing residents ages 12โ€“14 and provides participants with a hands-on look into the world of law enforcement while building teamwork, leadership, and positive relationships with officers.
