It’s Fire Safety Month and Fire Prevention Week! What better way to celebrate and learn what to do in case of a fire or other emergency than to have Red Hot Reading Day at Summerland!! The Clearwater, Ewing and Orchard Fire and Rescue Departments spent the day reading to us, showing us a fire demonstration, letting us try on Fireman Gear, look through the fire trucks and ambulances and gave us Fire Truck Rides!! We appreciate all the time you donate as Volunteer Fire and Rescue Departments! Also, thank you for the neat Activity Books, magnets, child finder stickers and other fun items!

Parents: your child has brought home a Fire Escape Plan paper! Please make a plan with your child, return the form and your child’s name will get put in a drawing for free pizza from one of our 3 communities!!

A small group of 8th and 9th graders attended the Nebraska Digital Citizenship Symposium today at ESU 8 in Neligh. These students listened to the keynote speaker, Dr. Kristin Mattson, and zoomed with schools from across the state, learning all about the influences of technology on all of us, as well as how to protect our well-being when it comes to technology. The group is working on a project to share the information they learned with the staff and students at Summerland,
