Former member, Jim Elwell has passed away. Our sympathies go out to the family.

James P. Elwell, of Monroeville passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, April 4, 2026.

Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing / visitation on Thursday evening, April 9th from 6 until 8 o’clock at the Freitag Funeral Home, 137 W. Commerce Street in Bridgeton.

The interment and service will take place privately with burial in the family cemetery lot at Cohansey Baptist Cemetery in Roadstown.

At Jim’s request, in lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his name to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284.

Ewan Fire Company will have the honor of escorting Santa through the Ewan and Richwood sections of Harrison Township on Christmas Eve (Dec 24th), beginning at 5pm. Be sure to keep an eye out for Santa as he makes his way around town!

Would you like Santa to drop off a gift at your house for Christmas? With a donation of $25 per household, Santa will deliver one gift per child while on his normal route. We will provide an approximate drop-off time. Drop gifts off at the Ewan Fire House at (312 Ewan Rd.) on one of the following days: December 9th & Dec 22nd from 7:30pm to 8:30pm. Open to Harrison Township residents from the Ewan and Richwood sections of town.
