🌺On July 30, 2026, Child & Family Service celebrated the blessing of the new Hilo Community Resource and Counseling Center dedicated to bringing hope, healing, and support to children, individuals, and families across East Hawai'i Island.

This special milestone marks a new chapter in CFS' 127-year commitment to strengthening families and fostering the healthy development of children. The new center will expand access to critical services, including domestic violence support, child abuse prevention and intervention, mental health counseling, and wrap-around resources for families.

🚧Just as every strong building begins with a solid foundation, every strong family deserves one too.

For more than 40 years, Child & Family Service has been helping lay the foundation for healthier, safer, and more resilient families in the Hilo community. Since 2020, CFS has served an average of 1,856 individuals each year on East Hawai’i Island with the greatest need centered around:
• Domestic violence support
• Child abuse prevention and intervention
• Assistance with Temporary Restraining Orders (TROs)

🏠The new East Hawai’i Island CFS Community Resource & Counseling Center will meet those needs and be an investment in our community and a space where individuals and families can access the support they need to build brighter futures for generations to come. We’re excited to celebrate the opening of our new East Hawai’i Island CFS Community Resource & Counseling Center. 📢Stay tuned for more updates coming soon!

Throwback Thursday! On March 27, 2024, our Hilo staff gathered for a special ground blessing for the future site of our East Hawai'i Island Community Resource & Counseling Center in Hilo. 🏠

Since then, construction and design teams have been hard at work bringing this vision to life.

This center is more than a building, it's a promise to support mental health, wellness, and resilience of Hawai'i Island families now and for generations to come. ❤️

We extend our mahalo to our generous donors, elected officials, and supporters who have made this project possible.
