Just wanted to thank everyone who helped us and joined us Last night for Everson's Annual Light up night. Special Thank you's go out to the Gillott family for the Christmas Carol's, The Scottdale Library for the Kids activities, all the area fire departments, Everson borough Police and Fire Department, Cub Scout pack 160, the Southmoreland Cheerleaders, our friends from Scottdale Lindy House, David Thomas, Stephanie Laree Schropp, the Borough EMA coordinator Jason Frazier, Michele Santarel Horan who shared as some history last night and threw the switch, and of course Santa. Hope everyone had a great time and we will see you all next year. Thank you to the Daily Courier reporter for coming and taking pictures for the paper.

Good Afternoon all everything is still on for this evening. We advise everyone to dress warm and the hall will be open for the kids and activities and caroling until it is time for the lighting ceremony. Please dress warm for the weather as it will be cold but we will have hot chocolate available to warm up and the hall will be open. We hope to see you all tonight and make this a memorable evening as Everson lights up.

I Want to apologize for the late official notice but it's that time of the year again Everson's Annual Light up night ceremony, parade and reception is all set for Friday November 28th, 2025. Beginning at 5 pm, The Scottdale Library will be available with activities for the kids to participate in. Complimentary Hot Chocolate will also be provided and Enjoy the sounds of the season. At 6 pm, we officially will throw the switch to light up our Nativity Scene and Christmas Tree. Also starting at 6 pm, the parade will begin moving from Feed Mill Road to Brown Street, proceeding to the fire hall. Any local Fire Departments, EMS agencies, area organizations , police that would like to attend you can reach out to Joseph Lane through our page, or contact me directly at 724-858-0736, you may also reach out to the Everson Volunteer Fire Company. Flyers and Invites will also be put out this week. After the parade we will have our reception inside with light refreshments, 50/50 raffle, some door prizes, visits with Santa and fellowship. Children 12 and under will get a treat bag after visiting with Santa. We hope to see all ofthere for a great night to welcome the Christmas Season in Everson and Light up for the Holidays. One thing this year we are still having our Christmas Lights Fund Drive, and donations can be dropped off at Mid Penn Bank in Scottdale Care of the Everson Civics Organization Christmas Lights Fund. Donations will also be accepted Light up Night. Inclement Weather Date will be Saturday November 29th, 2025.

Good afternoon we are all ready to welcome you tonight for Everson's annual light up night beginning at 5 pm. We understand it's going to be cold and a little snowy we will have hot chocolate available to keep you warm but please dress for the weather and before you know it everything will move inside. Good evening, tomorrow the railroad speeders will be coming through the Fayette Westmoreland county area collecting for toys for tots, they will be in everson around 925 am and again in the afternoon around 320 pm if you are able to donate to them it will be a nice thing to do as they come by every year.Thank you.

On Friday November 29th our light up night festivities and parade will take place. Beginning at 5 pm, complimentary hot chocolate will be available and the Scottdale Library will be on hand for storytime and other activities. We also will have some Christmas caroling going on outside until 545 550pm. At 6 pm, the light up ceremony will take place with the throwing of the switch of our Nativity Scene and Christmas Tree which will occur after the blessing of the nativity. The parade will begin moving at 6 pm and will wrap up by the fire station as We welcome Santa Claus to Town in Everson who will be at the end of the parade. After the parade concludes, join us inside the hall for a reception with Santa and photos, refreshments, more caroling, 50/50 raffle and some door prize drawings. Kids 12 and under will receive a treat bag after seeing Santa Claus. We hope you can join us as Everson Lights up for the 2024 Christmas Season. We will have sign ups for the neighborhood house decorations contest , sign up for judges and also information available about the organization and how light up night and the Christmas lights came to be a part of this town. If we still have them we will also be selling our Christmas cash and gift card tickets for $5.00 and you get two 3 digit numbers. Goes off Sunday December 1st at 7 pm from the PA lottery. Hello all we are selling a Christmas gift cards and cash ticket that goes off December 1st. See any organization member, or message us on here. We also will be getting tickets out to local businesses too. Unless we sell out before light up night we will have them there too the Christmas lights are up and more details about light up night will be out shortly. Date is November 29th 2024.

From the Officers and Members of the Everson Civics Organization, we wish you a very blessed and Happy Easter. The Lord Jesus Christ has arisen and is alive, ALLELUIA, ALLELUIA. Have a great day and we have a ticket that goes off tomorrow at 7pm on the lottery. We will have more to share with you about upcoming events in the months to follow. Our next meeting will be in May.

This past weekend, our organization took down the Christmas lights. We are always working hard and taking them down allows us to do maintenance and preserve the lights that everyone enjoys so much. I am very proud of our members and officers who work hard year around. Second thing is that we regret to announce the passing of life member Shirley Eckman, who passed away this past weekend. We offer our prayers and condolences to Shirley's family and friends during this difficult time that she rest in peace. Shirley lived in Everson for a long time and was very instrumental in the Everson community.

The Everson Civics Organization is having a strip ticket for sale that goes off on Valentine's Day at 7 pm on the lottery drawing. Tickets are $2.00 and you win $200.00. tickets are void after 30 days. We are hoping to do more of these tickets and some other tickets this year.
