The Historic Hartley Mansion was built by Roland Hartley in 1910. It served as the family home until 1952. This structure then first became the "Sound View Nursing Home" and latter the "LeGault Nursing Home". In 1983 the Mansion was purchased by Dr. Sanford Wright and after extensive restoration became converted into the "Everett Neurological Center". In the ensuing 25 years, countless community related events took place in the Mansion, including the "Hartley Family Reunion" on May 2, 2010. This was recorded by Puget Sound Video and can be found on the ENC website. In 2011 Dr. Sanford Wright moved his neurosurgical practice from the Mansion and began discussions with a number of individuals including Ray Stephanson, Mayor of Everett; Lanie McMullin, Development Director of the CIty of Everett; Deborah Wright, Neighborhood Director, City of Everett; Bob Drewel, former Everett Community College President & Snohomish County Executive; Brian Sullivan, Snohomish County Council Executive; Hartley Paul, General Consul for Intentional Software; Janny Hartley Hartley Jane Kingston Hartley; Jean, Ed and Neil Hartley Anderson; Russel Lowell, Russells Restaurant in Bothell & Bill Gates personal Chef for 14 years; David Carson, Patti Larson and many others. Efforts are now centered in finding a suitable "Anchor Tenant" and establishing the funding and governance so that a non-profit board can maintain the Mansion for the generations to come.
