On Wednesday night at Encore Boston Harbor, the Everett Citizens Foundation awarded over $110,000 in grants to 20 local organizations for the Year 7, Round 2 grant cycle. With these funds, organizations will continue to be able to serve youth, families, and those in need across our vibrant city.

Thank you to Encore, ECF, and all these amazing organizations for making this event a reality. It's great to see what we can accomplish when we come together as a community.

Congratulations to the Everett Police Department on earning certification from the Massachusetts Police Accreditation Commission.

This certification is a significant achievement that reflects the department’s commitment to professionalism, accountability, transparency, and excellence in policing. The process requires agencies to meet rigorous standards across policies, procedures, training, operations, and community service.

Chief Paul Strong accepted the certification on behalf of the department, alongside Mayor Robert Van Campen, Accreditation Manager Sgt. Nick Crowell and Capt. Paul Molea, whose leadership and dedication helped guide this effort from start to finish.

Accreditation is more than a plaque on the wall. It is a promise to residents that the Everett Police Department is committed to meeting the highest standards in law enforcement and continuously improving the services it provides to the community.

Congratulations to everyone involved in reaching this important milestone. Everett MA Police

The City of Everett was proud to host students from Everett High School for Student Government Day.

The students met with Mayor Van Campen, City Hall department heads, and local and state officials to learn about public service in Everett and across Massachusetts. After hearing from our speakers, they ended the day with a mock City Council meeting.

We’re always excited to support opportunities that introduce young people to civic life and encourage the next generation of leaders!

Update: The Wellness Center at the Old High School will close beginning June 12 as remediation work gets underway. The Eliot Resource Center is being temporarily relocated during construction.

The first floor and lower level are expected to be completed by September, with the Wellness Center anticipated to reopen around that time. The full project is expected to continue through October as part of a multi-phase effort to prepare the building for future use.

This work is funded through grant money at no cost to the City. Thank you for your patience as these improvements move forward.
