What a GREAT day Aurora had last Friday! 💙

We were thrilled to welcome a group of 30 United Way of Southwestern Indiana Day of Caring volunteers who rolled up their sleeves and helped us tackle several much-needed projects around our facility.

Volunteers from Koch Air, OneMain Financial, and USI Women’s Basketball staff helped us:

🧼 Clean all 6 of our fleet vehicles
📦 Purge, clean, and organize our donation room
🧹 Clean and organize our outside storage shed
📍 Create designated zones to help us continue improving and utilizing our space

A huge thank you to Republic Services for graciously helping with the dumpster and to Traci Welp for helping us organize and separate our space into zones for future improvements.

And a SPECIAL thank you to The Gathering Church for hosting the final Popup Grill of the year and taking on 30 extra mouths to feed! Your generosity helped keep our volunteers fueled and ready to work. ❤️

We are incredibly grateful for every volunteer, partner, and organization that gives their time and resources to help Aurora better serve our neighbors experiencing homelessness. Your hard work makes a difference! 💙

Did you know?
📍 583 individuals in Evansville are currently without a place to call home.

On average, about 100 of those individuals are sleeping in places not meant for human habitation every night.

Our strong shelter partners provide critical temporary housing and a safe place to stay. Meanwhile, Aurora works to help people move directly from the streets into safe, stable, and sustainable housing.

Because homelessness is more than a number. It’s a neighbor, a family, a friend, and everyone deserves a place to call home. 🏠

Together, we can work to prevent and end homelessness in our community.

It’s always an honor to attend the West Side Nut Club’s Founders Day! 💙

This year Aurora received $10,000 to help us continue our mission of preventing and ending homelessness in our community. We are incredibly grateful for the West Side Nut Club and their continued investment in local nonprofits!
