Congratulations to Toyota Fire & Rescue in Princeton, Indiana on taking delivery of their brand new quick attack unit. This unit (designated 15Brush3) is replacing their former brush unit that consisted of Tundra with a skid unit used solely for vegetation fires. The NEW 15B3 is a well thought out and well equipped apparatus that will be capable of handling a multitude of responses such as vegetation fires, vehicle fires, hazardous materials incidents, medical emergencies, technical rescues and many others. This vehicle will also be capable of driving into areas of the plant that would be inaccessible by standard fire apparatus. It is equipped with a “bumper turrent” to allow a sole operator to quickly get water on a fire as they approach without ever leaving the driver’s seat and give time for following crew members to deploy attack lines. It also carries a 10,000lb winch that can operate from points on the front AND back of the unit should it be needed for stability or to assist in moving obstacles hampering rescue or suppression efforts. We’ve been spending the last few days working with some of our local customers to educate them on just a fraction of the product lines we offer. This week was Elkhart Brass, Fire Research Corporation, ROM Doors and Foam Pro. Thanks to Steve Meekhof, our Midwest Regional Sales Manager for these products, for your time and expertise!

We would also like to thank the Posey County Fire Chiefs’ Association, Black Township Fire & Rescue and Haubstadt Fire Territory for their hospitality for hosting these event!

Say hello to Metropolis Engine 1! We took delivery of this 2022 Ferrara engine last night. Engine 1 will be replacing Engine 4 that served as our Frontline Engine for over 20 years of dedicated service to our community. Before it goes completely into service , we hope to have a blessing ceremony and keep with the tradition of firefighters pushing the rig into the station on the day it goes into service. We'd like to thank community, the Mayor and City Council for providing us with this engine to work for our citizens.

We’ve been spending the morning delivering F500 and sizing turnout gear with our friends at Ohio Township Volunteer Fire Department Reo Station in Spencer County! While we were there, we were able to catch a glimps of these faithful volunteers heading out to serve their community on an emergency response in their Ferrara Fire Apparatus custom Cinder pumper!
