We are grateful for partnerships that help support the families we serve. A recent Little Lambs of Evansville newsletter featured one of our Pre to 3 families and recognized Kaylee, one of our Pre to 3 RNs, highlighting the meaningful impact of collaboration and support.

Little Lambs continues to make a difference through their voucher program, store, classes, car seat education, and so much more. We are honored to be part of our families’ journeys and thankful for partnerships that help strengthen and support our community. 💙

School's out, Hoosiers!

Summer is the perfect time to explore local playgrounds. Just remember a few quick tips to help keep kids safe while they play.

• Check that equipment isn’t too hot before little hands and feet climb on.
• Look for sturdy, well-maintained equipment and soft landing surfaces.
• Keep an eye on kids as they climb, slide, and swing.
• Make sure shoes are secure and laces tied to prevent trips and falls.
• Bring water and take shade breaks to avoid overheating.

Let’s make this a fun, safe summer!

One of our incredible participants shared their journey after completing our Diabetes Prevention Program!

"Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect when I signed up for the free weight loss program through the health department, but it ended up being a game changer. I’ve lost over 40 pounds so far, and I feel way better than I have in a long time.

One of the coolest things is my A1C has dropped a ton, which is huge for my health. Plus, I’ve been sleeping really well lately—something I didn’t realize I was missing until it happened.

What really helped me stay on track were the calls from Tami. She’d check in, cheer me on, and remind me I wasn’t doing this alone. Those chats gave me the boost I needed when things got tough.

The program taught me to build better habits—like paying attention to what I eat, moving more, and just sticking with it. It wasn’t about being perfect, just making steady progress, and that honestly worked for me.

Looking back, I’m pretty proud of how far I’ve come. If you’re thinking about making a change, I’d say go for it. This program helped me get back on track, and I’m pumped to keep going."

We are so proud of their hard work and dedication!

Swimming lessons are an essential layer of protection, but layers only work when used together. To keep our little ones safer, we need to combine multiple safety measures, including:

- Barriers: Secure pools and water areas properly using > 48-inch fencing with a self-closing and self-latching gate.

- Active Supervision (3Cs - Close, Constant, Capable): Always keep a watchful eye on children in or near the water.

- Water Competency: It’s never too early to get children in Swim Lessons!

- Life Jackets: Use them when necessary, especially in open waters or when boating.

- Emergency Preparedness: Know what to do in an emergency or if you see someone in distress in the water.

Together, these 5 layers offer multiple points of protection for our loved ones. Let's ensure every splash is a safer one!

Heart disease is the leading cause of death for women in the U.S., but small lifestyle changes can make a big impact on your heart health.

Checking your blood pressure, staying active, making healthy food choices, and quitting smoking are all important steps toward reducing your risk.
