With great respect and sadness we share the passing of Veteran Gerald T. Sharp, 91, of Tennyson. BT3 Sharp served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War from 1952-1956 as a Boiler Operator. After service Gerald was a retired factory worker working at Whirlpool for 37 years. Gerald loved to go to auctions, enjoyed tinkering in his garage and fishing, especially bass fishing. He participated in many bass fishing tournaments around Kentucky Lake.
He had lived in Tennyson for the past three years moving there from Francisco where he lived for 30 years. We had the privilege of providing Gerald his Honor Flight in 2022, EVV12 red bus. Our sincere condolences and prayers go to his family and friends. Thank You Sir for your service and commitment to this great country and your community. Your dedication is appreciated and will not be forgotten. Rest in Peace and know you made a great difference. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈβœˆοΈπŸ™πŸΌβš“οΈ

With great sadness and respect we share the passing of Veteran Hercel Deane Jones, 93, of Evansville. Corporal Jones was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army in Paris, France. After his return from service, he met his future wife, Anita, while attending Texarkana Vocational Technical College. He was the bus driver for the students attending the college and she was a rider on his bus. They started their married life in Little Rock, Arkansas, where they were blessed with two daughters. Deane’s job brought them to Evansville, Indiana, where they lived for 15 years. They were then transferred to Fayetteville, Arkansas, where they lived for 22 years. After retirement, they moved back to Evansville in 2004 to be near their children and grandchildren. They were married for 65 years before Anita’s passing. Deane was a member of First Southern Baptist Church where he sang in the choir. Dad loved gospel music and never passed up an opportunity to sing! They took many wonderful trips with the church Keenager group across the country traveling to places they had always dreamed of visiting. He made many wonderful friends throughout his life who will miss him as much as his family. Dad was a friend to everyone he met. We had the privilege of providing Deane his Honor Flight in 2019, EVV11 blue bus. Our condolences and prayers go to his family and friends. Thank you Sir for your service and commitment to this great country and community. Your dedication is appreciated and will not be forgotten. With great respect and sadness we share the passing of Veteran Carl Heninger, 94, of Elizabeth, IN. MN2 Heninger entered the US Navy as an underwater bomb technician where he served from 1948-1952. After returning home from the service, he worked at Brown and Williams To***co Company and earned his GED. He then went on to become a certified electrician and worked for 27 years for the Jefferson County Board of Education in Louisville, Kentucky. He worked there from 1966 to 1993. He actually built the current home in Elizabeth where he and his wife Patricia lived after getting married in August of 1988. He retired in 1993 to be a full time beef cattle farmer. He also enjoyed mowing and baling hay as well as hunting and fishing. He joined Lighthouse church and was baptized on August 24, 2025 at the age of 93. We had the privilege of providing Carl his Honor Flight in 2025, EVV19 red bus. Our sincere condolences and prayers go to his family and friends. Thank You Sir for your service and commitment to this great country and your community. Your dedication is appreciated and will not be forgotten. With great respect and sadness we share the passing of Veteran Chesley Turner Rodgers, 88, of Madisonville, KY. SGT. Rodgers was a proud retired veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean War. He served for twenty-four years, in the United States Military, Army Branch and the Army Reserves, where he worked as a tank commander and a mess hall sergeant and retired in 1998. He retired after thirty-eight years from Prudential, and he also retired from the Hopkins County Board of Education as a bus driver. Chesley was always a very productive person and worked many jobs. He was a Kentucky Colonel. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and a lover of travel and adventure. His love for God, his country, and his family surpassed all else. Chesley was a member, Sunday school superintendent, and board member of Fellowship Temple Church. We had the privilege of providing Chesley his Honor Flight in 2019, EVV10 white bus. Our condolences and prayers go to his wife Fay of 40 years, his family, and friends. Thank you Sir for your service and commitment to this great country and your community. Your dedication is appreciated and will not be forgotten. Rest in Peace and know you made a great difference. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈβœˆοΈπŸ™πŸΌβ­οΈ
