Sometimes a little extra help can make a big difference.

Maybe the grocery bill is a little higher than usual. Maybe hours at work have been cut. Maybe there are just more bills than money this month.

Whatever the reason, if your family is struggling to make ends meet, Snackpackers is here for you.

ECSD students can receive free, nutritious, shelf-stable food to take home each weekend during the school year. And you don't have to wait until you're in a crisis to ask for help.

🎒 Today is the first Snackpackers delivery of the school year!

Today, bags of food will be making their way into students' lockers to take home for the weekend.

We're glad to be able to offer this program again this year—and especially glad to be able to help families who could use a little extra support right now.

If your child isn't signed up yet, it's not too late. Families can register throughout the school year.

🧺 We need some laundry helpers!

Koats for Kids is underway, and we're already getting winter gear donated. Before coats and snow pants can be offered to families, they need to be washed.

If you have a washer and dryer and would be willing to take a load (or two!) of coats or snow pants home, wash them, and return them to us, we'd really appreciate your help.

Coats need to be washed and returned to AWARE by 12 p.m. on October 8.

So, what exactly is in a Snackpackers bag?

It changes from week to week, but students might find things like:

🥫 Canned pasta
🥜 Peanut butter
🥣 Oatmeal
🍎 Fruit cups
🥛 Milk
🍎 Granola bars
🍿 Snacks

The goal is simple: give kids some food to take home for the weekend so they have one less thing to worry about.

The first bags go home this Friday, September 11, but families can sign up throughout the school year.

❄️ Koats for Kids starts today! ❄️

It’s time to clean out those closets! We’re collecting gently used winter gear to help local kids stay warm this winter.

We especially need:
🥾 Snow boots through youth size 6
❄️ Snow pants through adult size M

We also welcome gently used winter coats, hats, mittens and scarves. Please note that we cannot accept sweatshirts or fleece.

Donation bins are available through October 1 at:

📍 Evansville United Methodist Church

All donated items will be cleaned and then offered at no cost to low-income families in the Evansville Community School District.

The first Snackpackers bags of the school year go home this Friday! 🥫🥣🍎

If you’ve been thinking about signing your child up, there’s still time.

Snackpackers provides free food for ECSD students to take home for the weekend. Bags are packed with kid-friendly, shelf-stable foods, and the items change from week to week.

If your family is struggling to make ends meet—even if it’s just for a little while—please reach out. You don't have to wait until things get really tough.

🧥 Koats for Kids is coming! ❄️

Our Koats for Kids collection begins next week! We’re collecting gently used winter gear that will be cleaned and offered free of charge to local families later this fall.

We’re looking for:
🧥 Winter coats
❄️ Snow pants
🥾 Snow boots
🧤 Hats and mittens
🧣 Scarves

We especially need snow pants through adult size M and snow boots through youth size 6.

Collection bins will be available at locations throughout Evansville beginning September 8. The full list of locations is coming next week.

And there's another way you can help: we already have quite a few coats and snow pants that need to be washed. 🧺 Contact AWARE if you are interested in helping with laundry!

These bags are full of gently used winter gear that was donated to Koats for Kids—and now it’s time to get everything clean and ready for local kids. 🧥❄️

We’re looking for volunteers who can take a bag (or more!) home, wash the coats and snow pants, and return them to AWARE.

Coats need to be washed and returned by 12 p.m. on October 8.

🎒 Snackpackers is back!

Because hungry children cannot learn, the most essential school supply is food.

Starting next week, ECSD students can receive a bag of free, nutritious, shelf-stable food to take home each weekend during the school year.

Snackpackers is available to students who qualify for Free and Reduced Lunch, students referred through the school district, or families who are simply having a hard time making ends meet right now.

If your family could use a little extra help with food on the weekends, we’d love to help. ❤️
