The Feed Evansville Brown Bag Challenge is coming! On May 28th, we will be “brown
bagging” it to support Feed Evansville in our effort to provide free lunches, and
snacks, for children at our local city pools this summer. Each year around 41% of
parents struggle to provide food for their families during school breaks.

Vanderburgh County failed to enforce reporting requirements laws for so many years that noncompliance has practically become standard issue procedure. But holding candidates and elected officials accountable for their obligations to the public is one of the promises I made to residents when I took office. I am glad that my fellow election board members joined me yesterday to fine those who had yet to file their annual campaign finance report.

I hope this sends the message loud and clear--file your reports correctly and on-time. No more excuses.

Already facing criminal charges related to his campaign fundraising account, former Vanderburgh County Commissioner Ben Shoulders was fined Thursday for not keeping the still-open account current.

I’ve dreamed of being County Clerk since I started working in the office almost 23 years ago alongside my friend Theresa Rhodes Bassemier. Yesterday, she and I both realized our dreams as we were sworn-in to serve our friends and neighbors as elected officials in Vanderburgh County.

I am immensely thankful to the voters who have entrusted me with this responsibility, and to my family and friends who gave their time, talent, and treasure to help my campaign last year.

Thank you all so much for your support. Now, time for me to get back to work. 📑👩🏻‍💼

It’s been a busy Election Day, but I took about 30 minutes and voted this afternoon!

Nobody loves waiting, but the poll workers at Washington Square are doing a great job managing the crowd and getting voters through as quickly and efficiently as possible.

I’m so thankful for their willingness to wake up early and work a 12-hour day to help ensure the safety and integrity of our elections process. Poll workers the MVPs of Election Day! 🗳️

This past weekend, I had the pleasure of seeing Dottie Thomas, Vanderburgh County Treasurer. Dottie’s dedication and hard work have truly made a difference, and I couldn’t be more proud to see her recognized by the Association of Indiana Counties (AIC) as Treasurer of the Year. She’s an inspiration, and her passion for serving her community shines through in everything she does. Congratulations, Dottie!

The United Neighborhoods of Evansville candidate night is a can’t-miss event for me. Even though I’m unopposed, I fundamentally believe every candidate, federal, state, and local, should make themselves accessible to the people they wish to serve.

"𝘼𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 𝘾𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙩𝙮 𝙏𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙪𝙧𝙚𝙧 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙔𝙚𝙖𝙧 𝙞𝙨... 𝙑𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙗𝙪𝙧𝙜𝙝 𝘾𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙩𝙮 𝙏𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙪𝙧𝙚𝙧 𝘿𝙤𝙩𝙩𝙞𝙚 𝙏𝙝𝙤𝙢𝙖𝙨!!"

It was a rush to hear those words at the Association of Indiana Counties (AIC) annual conference this week! I've been privileged to serve as Vanderburgh County Treasurer for the last four years, and I've loved every challenge and opportunity this role has presented.

One of my favorite experiences has been serving as President of the Indiana County Treasurers Association. In that role, I got to bring the County Treasurers from all of Indiana's 92 counties to Evansville and share with them some of what makes our city great.

After working with many of my fellow Treasurer's for over a decade, I'm going to miss our community and comradery in my next role, but I'm likewise excited for what's to come.

To all my fellow Treasurers--thank you for awarding me this year's honor! I'm so proud to serve alongside you.
