💥 Another Banner Unveiling 💥4️⃣ left!!

There are some places that hold history… and then there are places that hold people together.

That is Evansville.

We are excited to begin sharing the stories behind the landmarks, buildings, traditions, and moments that helped shape this community into what it is today. Some of these stories are easy to miss unless you stop, ask questions, or spend time with the incredible people at the Evansville Historical Foundation preserving them for future generations.

What makes Evansville special is not just its history. It is the foundation of community underneath it all. Neighbors helping neighbors. Families building traditions. Volunteers showing up. Faith, resilience, hard work, and people who continue to care deeply about this town and its story.

This project is made possible in part by a grant provided through the Lake Region Arts Council (LRAC) with funds from the McKnight Foundation. We are grateful for their support in helping preserve and celebrate the stories that continue to shape our community.

This is just the beginning of highlighting the places and people that helped build Evansville into the heart-centered community it is today.

Unveiling one a day! Thank you to Evansville Art Center Evansville City, Minnesota Evansville Historical Foundation

💙There is something really special about small towns that continue to show up for one another through generations. Evansville is one of those places. A community built on tradition, hard work, celebration, storytelling, and people who care deeply about where they come from and where they are headed.

This banner project was created by Lyssa Lovejoy a local artist to celebrate the heart of Evansville, the families, the traditions, the pride, the coffee conversations, the Santa Days memories, the fireworks, street dances and the simple moments that become part of a town’s identity over time.

A huge thank you to the Evansville Historical Society for their extraordinary dedication to preserving the history and spirit of this community. Their efforts ensure these stories are not lost, but instead continue to inspire future generations. Historical preservation matters because it keeps the soul of a town alive.
