Help us prepare Sanctuary on the Hill for the veterans we’ll soon welcome. 🇺🇸

As construction continues, we’re also preparing the everyday essentials that will help make the retreat feel like home. From cleaning supplies and hand soap to trash bags and sponges, these simple items play an important role in keeping the Sanctuary ready for the veterans who visit.

We’ve created an Amazon Wish List with items that will help us stock and maintain the retreat as we work toward opening in 2027.

⛳️ THE 15TH ANNUAL MISSION FIRST GOLF OUTING IS BACK!!

Join us October 1st, 2026 at Helfrich Golf Course for a great day on the course, all while helping support veterans through Sanctuary on the Hill!

WHEN: October 1st, 2026
WHERE: Helfrich Golf Course
COST: $125 per golfer, includes lunch

This Labor Day, we’re taking a moment to recognize the hardworking people who are helping bring Sanctuary on the Hill to life. 🇺🇸

From the crews working on-site to the volunteers who give their time, talents, and energy, this sanctuary is being built by a community of people who believe in supporting those who served our country.

We’re incredibly grateful for everyone who has played a part in this journey and for the generous supporters who continue to stand behind our mission. Thank you for helping us build something meaningful for veterans and their families.

Meet Jill Moon 👏🏻🇺🇸

We’re honored to introduce Jill Moon, LCSW, a board member of Mission First – Sanctuary on the Hill and an Indiana National Guard Veteran.

Jill brings her military experience and background as a psychotherapist specializing in equine-assisted psychotherapy to our mission. She is passionate about helping veterans find healing, strengthen relationships, and reconnect with their communities.

We’re grateful to have Jill as part of the team working to create a place where veterans can be supported in body, mind, and spirit.

Concrete is being poured for a project that will make a lasting first impression and become a permanent part of the Sanctuary’s legacy. We’ll reveal more over the next month!

More progress is happening as our future Rest & Relaxation Area and Board Room continue to come together. Every finished detail brings us one step closer to creating a welcoming place for veterans and their families to rest, connect, and recharge!

The inside of the Activity Center is starting to come together! 🙌

Chairs, filing cabinets, TVs, tables, and more are being delivered and set up by our incredible volunteers as this space takes shape!

We can't wait for the day veterans drive down this road and know they've arrived somewhere they belong. 🇺🇸

We're getting closer to creating a place where veterans can begin or continue their journey toward healing, connection, and reacclimation.

More than 100 trees, planted by volunteers, line the right side of the driveway as you enter The Sanctuary. What was once simply a rocky work in progress is becoming a meaningful path leading veterans toward new friendships, support, and a sense of belonging.
