Lightning started a fire in some trees behind the Bear Necessity Apartments on Bear River Drive tonight. Evanston Fire responded and contained the fire to the trees. No injuries reported.

Chief Don Bodine was remembered today as his name was added to the Fallen Firefighter Memorial at the Fire Academy in Riverton. His family and members of the Fire Department were on hand to participate in the Memorial Service. Chief Bodine passed away in December after a courageous battle with occupational cancer. 🚒❤️🙏

Evanston Fire responded to a report of a smoke filled home this evening and found the blower motor to the furnace had seized and reached approx 300 degrees.

Crews turned off the power and gas and cooled the unit,no injuries,minor damage contained to the heating unit, they cleared the smoke from the house and cleared the scene.

So grateful for the volunteers we have here in Uinta County and the service they provide to our community 🇺🇸❤️🙏🚒
