Evanston Township High School (ETHS) District 202 is a four-year (9-12), comprehensive high school occupying a 65-acre campus in Evanston, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago along the Lake Michigan shore. ETHS was established in 1883 and serves the city of Evanston and a small portion of the neighboring village of Skokie for a total district population of approximately 78,000. The attendance area of the school is home to Northwestern University and Oakton Community College, and has a variety of office developments, technology parks, light industrial and shopping districts. Together, the two communities offer an ethnic, economic, racial, and cultural diversity that is reflected in the student body. Evanston Township High School is fully accredited by the State of Illinois.

Forensics students headed to the Nature Center for a hands-on investigation into one of the most fascinating tools in forensic science: insects. The insects that arrive during decomposition can tell a story. Students collected maggots from chicken carcasses and examined their development to estimate the age of the maggots, and then worked backward to determine an estimated time of death.

It might sound grisly, but decomposition is an important natural process, and the insects that help break down animal remains can also provide valuable clues to crime scene investigators. 🪰🔍

Our Wildkit parents and guardians stepped into their students’ shoes at Open House. Throughout the evening, they followed their students’ class schedules, met their teachers, and got a closer look at what learning and growing looks like every day at ETHS. 📙📘

We love having our Wildkit families in the building. Thanks for joining us!
