⚓🏴‍☠️ COMING ATTRACTIONS AT SAIL! 🏴‍☠️⚓

Get ready, SAIL families—something exciting is on the horizon!

This summer, construction will begin on an incredible new Pirate Ship Play Attraction that will provide over 2,000 square feet of adventure-filled play space for our scholars. The new playground area will feature a massive pirate ship, climbing opportunities, slides, cargo nets, swings, a castle play structure, and a covered pavilion for gathering and outdoor fun.

Construction is STARTING EARLY with completion expected in August 2026, just in time for our scholars to enjoy a whole new world of imaginative play and exploration!

We can't wait to watch our young pirates climb aboard, set sail on adventures, and make memories for years to come. Stay tuned for updates as this exciting project comes to life!

Dear SAIL Families,

We want to share an important update with you. The SAIL Governing Board has accepted Robert Grimm's resignation as Executive Director, effective May 15, 2026. We appreciate his contributions to our school community during his time with us.

To ensure a smooth and seamless transition, the Board has appointed Michael Petrella to serve as Interim Executive Director, effective immediately. Many of you know Mr. Petrella from his years of service at SAIL, including his work as Director of Operations. What you may not know is that he also has an extensive background in teaching and educational leadership. He has the full support of the Governing Board and will continue guiding the important work already underway.

Our mission, our students, and our staff remain at the center of every decision we make. We are confident in the strength of our team and in the continuity of the work happening across campus each day. The Board will complete its organizational structure review this summer and will keep our community informed as we move forward.

🎶🎭 Thursday Performance Information 🎭🎶

We are excited to continue celebrating our talented scholars on Thursday, May 14th! Please see the performance schedule below:

🥁 8:00–8:45 AM – Band Performance
🎵 9:15–9:45 AM – 1st Grade Music Performance
🎭 10:15–10:45 AM – 3rd Grade Drama Performance
🎬 11:00 AM–12:00 PM – Upper School Acting Class

📍A check-in station will be located at the tent in the front of the school for all visitors.

✅ Scholar check-out will take place in the MPR following performances.

☕ Be sure to stop by The Drip Society coffee cart in the lobby! They will have a variety of delicious coffee drinks available for purchase while you enjoy the performances.

🚗 Afternoon carline will begin at 12:30 PM due to early dismissal.

We are excited to welcome our families for Wednesday’s performances on May 13th! Please see the schedule below:

🕣 8:30–9:15 AM – Dance Performance (4th Grade Parents)
🕤 9:45–10:30 AM – Dance Performance (Upper School Parents)
🎬 10:30–11:00 AM – Upper School Improv Class
🕚 11:15 AM–12:00 PM – Dance Performance (Kindergarten Parents)

As we sail into the last week of the 2025-2026 school year, please make note of our early dismissal schedule:

🗓 May 13th & 14th
⏰ Dismissal begins at 12:30 PM

🗓 May 15th
⏰ Dismissal begins at 11:30 AM

🚗 You may notice our front parking lot looking extra empty this week! All staff and faculty will be parking in the back to help make dismissal and front office traffic smoother for our families.

Our 4th grade scholars had an unforgettable adventure at the Fernbank Museum last week! 🦖✨ From exploring incredible exhibits to discovering the wonders of science and history, it was a day full of hands-on learning, laughter, and memories made together.
We loved seeing our scholars curious, engaged, and having so much fun while learning outside the classroom! 💙⚓
