Columbia County, in cooperation with East Coast Grading, wishes to inform the driving public of intermittent, temporary lane closures with lane shifts in Hidden Creek Subdivision. Due to paving, the following roads will have intermittent lane closures: Dualwood Road, Old Spruce Lane, Golden Bell Lane, Zier Court, Erika Lane, and Crenshaw Drive. The temporary lane closures will be from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. starting Wednesday, September 09, 2026, through Friday, October 09, 2026. Expect delays. Please seek an alternate route if possible.

Residents are advised to remove trash cans and any vehicles being parked in the roadway. Cleaning of the roadway will take place so there could be dust at times.

Whenever you approach a work zone: slow down; allow extra distance between vehicles; watch for advanced warning signs; obey road crew flaggers; and expect the unexpected. If possible, please plan to take an alternate route and/or allow additional time for commuting during this timeframe.

Temporary Lane Closures on Furys Ferry Road

Columbia County, in cooperation with ER Snell wishes to inform the driving public of intermittent temporary lane closures at the intersection of Fury’s Ferry Road at North Belair Road and Mullikin Road. Due to road construction, the scheduled activities will take place nightly from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM, starting on Tuesday, September 08, 2026 to Friday, September 11, 2026, weather permitting.

This temporary lane closure is associated with the roadway-widening project for Furys Ferry Road

County offices will be closed on Monday, September 7, 2026 in observance of Labor Day. County offices will resume normal business operations on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at 8:00 AM.

​Columbia County Libraries (Evans Library, Grovetown Library, and Harlem Library) will be closed Saturday, September 5, 2026 through Monday, September 7, 2026 and will resume normal business operations on Tuesday, September 8, 2026. All book drops will be locked to prevent overfilling.

Extended Temporary Lane Closures on William Few Parkway

Columbia County, in cooperation with Summit Construction and Development wishes to inform the driving public of extended intermittent temporary lane closures on William Few Parkway at its intersection with Chastain Drive. Due to road construction activities, the intermittent lane closures will be between 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, starting on Monday, August 31, 2026, and has been extended to Thursday, September 03, 2026, weather permitting.

Columbia County Fire Rescue will host the 25th Anniversary 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb on Friday, September 11th beginning at 8:00 AM.

A Remembrance Ceremony will begin at 8:00 AM. The stair climb will immediately follow the ceremony. Everyone is welcome to participate in the stair climb.
