In just 30 days time our ambulance had two cardiac arrest saves with both patients expected to make good recoveries. To say how proud we are of our crew and the State Police officers is an understatement. The training and dedication of all our staff is commendable.

Have we mentioned lately how proud we are of our team and our community? Wellโ€ฆ here we go again! When all our training and experience comes together and our neighbors answer the call for help we have the rarest opportunity to make the difference between life and death. The NYS Police and Pamelia Fire Department along with our Jefferson County Dispatcher and our team of EMTs and Paramedics were honored this evening with commendations for saving a life of a man in cardiac arrest.

Father Sam will be greatly missed by all in our communities.

Father Sam will be greatly missed by all in our communities.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Fr. Samuel Lundy, a man deeply loved throughout the fire service and our wider community. For many years, Fr. Sam served as the Chaplain of the West Carthage Fire Department, among his many other roles throughout the fire service in Jefferson County and New York, offering not only spiritual guidance, but unwavering support, compassion, and a steady presence in both our brightest and most difficult moments.

Fr. Sam led with kindness, humility, and a sense of humor that could lift any spirit. His dedication to service, whether through faith, community involvement, or simply showing up for others, was evident in every aspect of his life. He lived to love and serve, and all of us are better for having walked alongside him.

The West Carthage Fire Department extends our deepest thoughts and prayers to his family and to every life he touched through his ministry and community service. His legacy is one of generosity, faith, and genuine care for others.

Rest easy, Canon Samuel Lundy.
We will continue to walk, serve, and lead in your example.
