Join us at the Eustis Clifford House for Bells Across America, an annual observance celebrating the signing of the U.S. Constitution.

The historic Clifford House will welcome community members as the Daughters of the American Revolution, Ocklawaha Chapter, leads this meaningful bell ringing tradition in remembrance of the bells that rang throughout Philadelphia when the Constitution was signed.

The Eustis Clifford House is located at 536 N. Bay St. in Eustis.

Join Eustis High School on Monday, Sept. 14 at 6 p.m. in Downtown Eustis for their annual Homecoming Parade.

The parade will start in Ferran Park and go down Magnolia Ave., bringing EHS school spirit to downtown.

On Thursday, Sept. 10, the Eustis City Commission thanked former Fire Chief Mike Swanson for his 11 years of service to the Eustis community and highlighted the promotion of Fire Chief Shawn Kelleher.

Eustis Mayor Emily Lee, Vice Mayor Gary Ashcraft, Commissioner Michael Holland, Commissioner George Asbate, Commissioner Willie Hawkins and Interim City Manager Rick Gierok participated in the recognitions.

At the Thursday, Sept. 10 Commission Meeting, State Representative Nan Cobb presented a $350,000 check for the Lake Willie Boardwalk Renovation and a $500,000 check for Phase 3 of the Trout Lake Nature Center’s New Education Complex.

These investments support outdoor recreation, environmental education and natural space enhancements in our community.

Eustis Mayor Emily Lee, Vice Mayor Gary Ashcraft, Commissioner Michael Holland, Commissioner George Asbate, Commissioner Willie Hawkins and Interim City Manager Rick Gierok participated in the check presentations. Deputy City Manager Miranda Burrowes, Parks and Recreation Director Sam Brinson, Grant Writer Veronica Whetro and Trout Lake Nature Center representatives also participated.

Today, 25 years later, the City of Eustis pauses to remember and honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001. We will never forget the courage and sacrifice of the service members, first responders, families and all others who were impacted that day. 🇺🇸

🚧 TRAFFIC ALERT – US 441 LANE CLOSURE IN EUSTIS 🚧

The far-right northbound lane of US 441 between Kurt Street and the perpendicular service road entrance is currently closed. Underground work damaged a water line, leading to sand erosion on the roadway.

FDOT crews are on scene assessing the situation. There is currently no estimated time for repairs to be completed.

As repair work progresses, additional lane closures may be necessary. Motorists traveling through the area should use caution and expect possible delays.

The City will provide updates as additional information becomes available.
