Happy Labor Day!

Labor Day is a time to recognize the American worker and the generations of people whose hard work helped build our communities and our country.

I’ve worked most of my life, and my first real job was at a car wash! We all started somewhere, and those first jobs often taught us lessons we carried with us for years.

During my many years at Eustis High School, I had the privilege of working with Cooperative Education students as they entered the workforce, many for the very first time. I would especially love to hear from some of my former students!

Join me for the third event in my EustisTalks series — Conversations That Build Community!

On Thursday, August 27, from 5:00–8:00 PM, American Dream Kitchen Design will be our venue host for an evening of conversation about Eustis, our local businesses, responsible growth, opportunities for our youth, housing, and the future of the community we all call home.

We’ll also hold a Facebook Live auction featuring the beautiful Eustis painting created by local artist Susie Klingberg at our last EustisTalks event, with proceeds benefiting my campaign.

EustisTalks was created to do exactly what its name suggests: bring people together, listen to one another, learn from our community, and have meaningful conversations about where Eustis is headed.

It wasn't my first attendance at this Lake 100 Legislative Update yesterday at Mission Inn and it certainly won't be my last. Excellent updates on new and existing laws and upcoming ballot initiatives on Lake County residents.

Last night’s Eustis Talks was truly an incredible evening, and I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who took the time to come out and support me. Seeing so many familiar faces, meeting new friends, and having meaningful conversations about the future of our community was both encouraging and inspiring.

Thank you to everyone who attended, signed in, shared your ideas, asked thoughtful questions, and took the time to learn more about my vision for Eustis. Your support and engagement mean more than words can express.

A special thank you to the volunteers, family, friends, and supporters who worked behind the scenes to make the evening such a success. From setting up to welcoming guests and providing refreshments, your dedication did not go unnoticed.

To those who were unable to attend but reached out with prayers, kind words, and well wishes—thank you. Your encouragement and support have been a true blessing.

Eustis Talks is about listening, learning, and working together to build a stronger Eustis. I truly value every conversation, every suggestion, and every opportunity to hear what matters most to our residents. Your voices are important, and I am grateful for the trust and support you’ve shown.

Thank you again for making last night’s Eustis Talks such a memorable success. I look forward to continuing these conversations throughout our community as we work together for an even brighter future for Eustis.

What a wonderful day at the Splash Bash! It was great seeing families, local organizations, first responders, vendors, and community partners come together for a day filled with fun, fellowship, and activities for all ages.

With the Splash Bash, the monthly car show, and the RC boat competition all happening in our lovely Ferran Park, my heart was singing! Three wonderful events in one beautiful place—this is what community is all about. 💦🚗🚤☀️

I am so proud of my former Eustis High School student, Shikita, who has grown into an inspiring entrepreneur and dedicated community advocate. It is truly an honor to work beside her as she continues creating opportunities that strengthen and uplift our community.

The Glow Girl Leadership Circle One-Day Summit will empower middle and high school girls through leadership, confidence-building, wellness, goal setting, and sisterhood. Join this meaningful event on Saturday, October 3, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Alee Academy in Eustis.

What a wonderful evening at the 1st Annual Meaningful Milestones Academy Country Gala at The Barn at Southern Oaks!

I enjoyed spending time with Roxy Cruz, representing United Southern Bank, and sitting with members of the Golden Triangle Toastmasters. Chuck McMaster delivered a heartfelt and intentional message about the mission of Meaningful Milestones Academy and the important work being done for its students.

It was also especially meaningful to see several of my former students—including the owners of The Barn at Southern Oaks and DA Construction—supporting this wonderful school and giving back to our community.

I was so happy to attend and celebrate everyone helping Meaningful Milestones Academy make a difference. 🤠❤️💛
