3/1 – Report from a neighboring county of a heavily intoxicated and possibly combative individual driving a vehicle into our county. While deputies were responding, the subject was located in the neighboring county
3/1 – Report of a disturbance in Madison. Deputy responded and arrested Tyler Short for felony criminal damage to property. Investigation also revealed sexual offenses that occurred in a different county.
3/1 – Report of a horse out and/or about in the area of K99 Hwy near Madison
3/1 – Report of an altercation at a business in Eureka. Deputy responded and discovered verbal threats were made, however none of the victims wished to cooperate with prosecution

Introducing the newest member of the Greenwood County Sheriff's Office! On January 23rd, after 3 weeks of K9 certification training, Sgt Mike Cordell and K9 Kraken became a certified team. Kraken, a Belgian Malinois, is certified in narcotics detection, apprehension, tracking/trailing, article searches, and obedience.

I would like to give a special thanks to Matt Wilson of Eureka, and Larry & Sherry DeWitt of Madison for their generous donations to the Greenwood County Sheriff's Office K9 fund. We value our close partnership with our community and look forward to continuing to provide the best service we can!

K9 Kilo has officially retired after approximately 7 years on the road and has left active service with the Sheriff's Office.

1/18 – Call from an individual experiencing mental health issues in Eureka. Family members contacted who were already helping the subject

1/18 – Request to speak with a Deputy in Eureka regarding a no contact order
1/19 – Report of a possible hunting incident with no injuries at a county address
1/19 – Report of a possible protection order violation in Eureka
1/19 – Request for a civil stand-by in Madison

1/19 – Report of a possible disturbance at a residence in Eureka. Deputies responded and found it was not a disturbance, just loud activities

1/23 – Deputy arrested Kim Higbee for a warrant for burglary and theft as well as new charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia, and felony interference with law enforcement

1/23 – Deputy stopped a vehicle in Madison and arrested Clifton Kinney for aggravated domestic battery stemming from a previous call

1/28 – Two vehicle non-injury accident in Eureka
1/28 – Request to speak with a Deputy regarding a civil matter in Madison
1/28 – Deputy stopped a vehicle on U400 Hwy and arrested Timothy Fisher for driving while revoked
1/28 – Commercial burglar alarm at a bank in Eureka. Deputies responded and determined it was accidental
1/28 – Request to speak with a Deputy regarding a protection order
1/28 – Request to check welfare in Eureka
1/28 – Reckless driver complaint on U400 Hwy
1/28 – Report of a possible disturbance in Eureka. Deputy responded and determined this to be a mental health issue. Family members arrived to assist and there was no ongoing safety concern
