This year *C is proud to celebrate the 25 year anniversary of the Foster Youth Bill of Rights in California. C*C members played an important role in passing this landmark legislation, which formalized the legal rights of children and youth in foster care.

May is and you can stand with the youth leaders of C*C who are continuing the legacy and shaping the future of foster care. 💙

Native Ways of Knowing – Summer Jumpstart Program

We’re excited to invite students to a unique and enriching summer experience designed to support Native American students in building cultural connection, academic readiness, and confidence for the upcoming school year.

📍 Program Details:
• Dates: June 22 – July 31
• Location: Eureka High School
• Who: ECS Native American students entering grades 6–12
• Cost: Fully funded (free for all participants)
• In partnership with Blue Lake Rancheria

✨ What Students Can Expect:
• Indigenous knowledge, storytelling & cultural teachings
• STEM & hands-on learning experiences
• Academic skill-building & school transition support
• Wellness practices & leadership development
• Mentorship from Native educators & community leaders

🎓 Additional Benefits:
• Earn up to 30 credit-recovery units
• Collect attendance-recovery days
• Field trips to places like:
– Sumeg Village
– Stone Lagoon
– Sequoia Park
– And more!

Our goal is to create a supportive, empowering space where students can strengthen their cultural identity, build meaningful connections, and prepare for success.

Marshall Family Resource Center and Community Schools hosts a monthly breakfast at Eureka High School to connect students with community resources, build meaningful relationships, and provide ongoing support.

At this month’s gathering, we were joined by the RCAA Youth Service Bureau and The RAVEN Project, who shared valuable information with students. We wrapped up the event by distributing brand new shoes from Soles4Souls

A huge thank you to the 29 students who showed up—we’re so grateful to be building such a strong and supportive community together 💛

Join us for a welcoming and supportive group where grandparents can:
• Share experiences and advice
• Learn helpful strategies and tools
• Connect with others who understand
• Build community and support
