School starts soon and reading habits start now! 📚

Kids who read at home walk into the classroom with a head start, and it takes as little as 20 minutes a day. Let them pick the books, read at bedtime, and try an audiobook on the drive to practice.

Stop by Mybrary this week and let your kids load up before the first bell. We have two locations, one in Eureka and one in Crescent Valley, and a library card is free.

Soccer season is almost here! The Juvenile Probation Office is signing up players in grades PK through 6th for youth soccer, and it's just $12 per child.

Practice kicks off August 17 and the last day to register is August 31. Save the flyer for practice days and times by grade level!

Back to School Hangout Night takes over the Vandal Athletic Center on Wednesday, August 12, from 7 to 10 PM. Free admission, pizza and prizes, and every attendee goes home with school supplies. Just show up and bring your friends

Rodeo weekend is coming, Eureka! 🤠

The Eureka High School Rodeo rides into the Eureka County Fairgrounds August 14-16. Come cheer on our local cowboys and cowgirls as they rope, ride and represent Eureka County against some of the best young athletes in the state.

One last summer party before the school bells ring! 🎒

Eureka County Juvenile Probation hosts its annual Back to School Party on Wednesday, August 12, at the Town Park behind the Owl Club. Kids Pre-K through 2nd grade play from 10 AM to noon, and 3rd through 6th graders take over from noon to 2 PM. Pizza hits the tables at noon, and every kid heads home with school supplies.

Meet the kids behind this year's Eureka Jr. Livestock Show & Sale! 🐷🐑🐮

Months of early mornings, feed buckets and practice laps come down to sale day on August 8. Swipe through to meet Jaxon, Claudia, Charlee, Kolten, Clementina, Gabriel, Charlie, Marvel, Braylen, and Jayden, along with the animals they've bred, raised and cared for all year.

Some are saving for college, donating part of their earnings to their church or charity, and all of them are learning responsibility, hard work and business skills the 4-H way.

Come support them at the sale Saturday, August 8, at 1 PM at the Eureka County Fairgrounds. Can't be there in person? Pre-bidding is available. Contact Tosha Kerby at 775-237-6135 or [email protected].

Saddle up, ya’ll, the Eureka County Fair full schedule is HERE! 🎉

Exhibit hall entries open Tuesday and Wednesday, August 4-5, then the FUN takes over Thursday through Sunday, August 6 - 9. Catch the 4-H Livestock Show, youth rough stock, team branding, gymkhana, mud volleyball, goat roping and a free KIDS ZONE all weekend.

Then stick around Saturday night for the rodeo, followed by a dance and a concert by Reckless Envy.

Here's your full rundown for the Eureka Jr. Livestock Show on Thursday, August 6 at the Eureka County Fair 🐄

Weigh-ins run Wednesday from 5 to 7 PM and Thursday from 6 to 7:30 AM. Opening ceremonies start at 8:30 AM, and the show kicks off at 9 AM with market, showmanship, breeding and fun classes featuring swine, beef, sheep, goats and poultry.

Stop by Marian's Sweet Treats at 8 AM, then stick around for lunch from Cooks Steakhouse at noon.

The sale follows Saturday, August 8, at 1 PM. Can't make it? Pre-bidding on market animals is accepted. Contact Tosha Kerby at 435-260-0116 or [email protected].
