Mutual aid is how we make sure our community gets the help it needs, no matter the size or scope of the emergency. Whether it’s a structure fire, medical call, or large-scale incident, departments work side by side, sharing resources, equipment, and expertise to get the job done.

That means both giving and receiving support. It’s a system built on trust, coordination, and a shared commitment to protecting lives and property.

Because when it matters most, it’s not about boundaries, it’s about backing each other up.

Our Jr. Firefighters start off by lending a helping hand to the engineer during calls.
This helps the JrFF learn from a safe distance. Once they learn the ropes, Jr’s are allowed to do more on a call by call basis.

Meet the Engineer.

The engineer plays a critical role on every fire call. While they may not always be the ones going inside, their job is what makes everything else possible.

Here’s what they’re responsible for:
✔ Driving the apparatus safely and quickly to the scene
✔ Operating the pump to supply water to firefighters
✔ Managing hoses, pressure, and water flow
✔ Monitoring equipment and making sure everything runs properly
✔ Positioning the truck for maximum efficiency and safety

A strong, steady water supply can make all the difference, and that’s on the engineer.
Behind every effective fire attack is an engineer making sure crews have exactly what they need, when they need it.
