🚨 PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT – Coast Central Members 🚨

Do NOT give personal information to anyone who calls you.
If you receive a call about your account — hang up and call your bank back using the number saved in your contacts or listed on their official website.

Members of Coast Central Credit Union are being targeted by scammers posing as the “Fraud Prevention Team.”

Here’s what’s happening:

• The scammer calls from a spoofed number that appears to be a local Coast Central branch.
• They go over recent “transactions” and ask detailed questions.
• They may already have some of your personal information.
• Then they say they’re going to re-issue your debit card…
• And THAT’S when they start asking for your member number and full personal information.

⚠️ This is the red flag.

Scammers are trained to create urgency and panic. They want you flustered and afraid that someone is draining your account — because when you’re stressed, you’re more likely to hand over sensitive information.

Remember:

✔️ Banks already have your member number.
✔️ Banks will NOT ask for your full personal information over an unsolicited call.
✔️ Caller ID can be faked. 👀 look at my photo!

If something feels off, it probably is.

Hang up.
Pause.
Call the official number yourself.
