Eureka Springs Fire & EMS Serving Eureka Springs, Arkansas and the Western Carroll County Ambulance District.

The Eureka Springs Fire Department is a combination department, meaning that it has both paid and volunteer staffing. The department provides fire suppression services for the city of Eureka Springs and an associated rural fire district. ESFD also provides ambulance services for western Carroll County through a contract with the Western District, which oversees EMS for half of the county.

We would like to send out to a special thank you to the Holiday Island Fire Department, Berryville Fire Department, and Arkansas Forestry Division for their assistance in providing apparatus and manpower yesterday evening to a wildland fire on County Road 323! With their help, we were able to confine the fire and prevent further property damage/loss.

CARROLL COUNTY IS UNDER A BURN BAN UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

01/27/2026

We have a water main break at the West Van Buren (Hwy 62) intersection with Glenn Avenue/Oil Springs Road. There is water in the roadway that could freeze and cause traffic issues.

We are in contact with Arkansas Department of Transportation and are trying to borrow temporary signal lights to put traffic in a head to head pattern. We are awaiting a call back from them.

With the recent snow event, we are all short staffed due to 24 hour personnel rotations. ArDOT is short staff and its taking a little longer than usual to get an answer from them. Just know that we are doing what we can and will be working on the issue as soon as possible.

If you have any questions, please call us at (479) 253-9600.

Thanks,

Simon - Director of Public Works

Congratulations to David Barbato on his completion of the Northwest Arkansas Community College Paramedic program and licensure with the Arkansas Department of Health as a Paramedic earlier this year! Firefighter/Paramedic David Barbato’s journey began two years ago when he started taking the prerequisite classes for admittance into the program. That involved taking collegiate level classes covering medical terminology, anatomy & physiology, and electrocardiogram (ECG) interpretation. Once in the program, he would cover topics in cardiac, respiratory, traumatic, OB-GYN, and other medical emergencies, attending 100+ hours of emergency department time, placing 150+ IVs, giving 100+ medications, all while working on shift and providing patient care under the supervision of our preceptors. Thank you, David Barbato, for your dedication to providing high quality patient care to our community and congratulations on graduating Valedictorian!
