June 12 Webster County Roundup,
On Friday June 12th, the Webster County Sheriff’s Office Ms Bureau of Narcotics, Mathiston PD, Ms Dept of Wildlife Fisheries and Parks, Eupora PD and Ms Bureau of Investigation completed a operation here in Webster County that included drug sales and possession, burglaries and a variety of other crimes against the people of Webster County. Warrants were served and arrests were made with the violators booked into the Webster County Jail.
This operation and investigations which lasted the better part of a year, shows how when local and state agencies come together and work on problems in our county such as these, we can make a difference. I would like to personally thank every person and agency represented for a lot of good old fashioned law enforcement work on everyone’s part. I look forward to continue these law enforcement efforts in the future to make Webster County a better place to live and raise our families.

Webster County Fires
After a nearly 2 year long investigation into over 15 fires in the area northeast of Eupora, Webster County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested and charged Henry “Peanut” Henley with Arson. Henley is being held in the Webster County Jail.
More charges are pending.

Baptism and New Life Recovery Program Bring Hope to Webster County Jail

In a moving demonstration of faith, and support, several inmates at the Webster County Jail were baptized on Saturday, April 18th, 2026. The baptism was done by Pastor Allen Martin of Plainview Church. The ceremony offered a moment of spiritual renewal and hope for the individuals involved.

In addition to the spiritual uplift, the Webster County Jail is working to introduce a new Life Recovery Program (LRP) aimed at addressing recidivism. This wellness program is designed to support individuals struggling with mental issues, relationship problems and harmful behaviors like substance use, gambling, or compulsive habits. It is an approved program for court-ordered clients, meaning judges and employers can mandate it as part of a rehabilitation or compliance plan.

The Life Recovery Program represents a significant step towards holistic rehabilitation within the jail system. By addressing the root causes of criminal behavior, the program aims to equip inmates with the tools and support they need to successfully reintegrate into society, reducing the likelihood of re-offending and creating a safer community for everyone.

We are committed to providing the inmates with the resources they need to help them turn their lives around. With the assistance of Pastor Martin, and his team, and Jailer Danny Ross, we believe this program will make a significant impact on reducing recidivism and will help these individuals lead healthier, more productive lives. We aim to lay the groundwork, but what they build on it is up to them.

"Webster County" First Responders are the Best...
Last night a 12 year old was lost from his home in the Clarkson area, within a just a short time First Responders were on scene from the Cumberland/Clarkson Fire Departments, Mathiston Police Department, Webster County Emergency Agency, Webster County Emergency Services, 911 Communication Services, Mississippi Game & Fish, Webster County Sheriff Department with our new Drone and many concerned Webster County Citizens, all were there to help turn a potential disastrous situation into one of safety and security. And within less than an hour after First Responders arrived on the scene the 12 year old was safely found and secured.
Webster County is blessed to have such dedicated,responsible and resourceful women and men first responders to step in the gap in our times of need.

After a long investigation of several months, Webster County Deputies arrested Jimmy Sanders of Eupora and Kelsey Freshour of Choctaw County for Residential burglary, Receiving stolen property for the burglary of an Estate west of Eupora. These burglaries occurred not once but several times over a few months. Both are being held in the Webster County jail. Freshour is currently on parole and has only been out of prison a few months, he has a MDOC hold.
Congratulations to the Deputies that worked very hard to solve this case, as it was a cold case from the start.

I received a call late yesterday evening (Sunday) about dark that there was a man, his son and two small children lost in the Old Cove area. After taking the information I called our two Webster County Game Wardens, Jared Patterson and Tyler Beardeman, and told them that we had some people lost at the Old Cove. They immediately answered the call and within not much more than an hour they had the people found and safely returned. I want to take the time to thank Jared and Tyler for the job they do in Webster County. We at Webster SO have never asked for help that these men don’t come right away and help us. Most of the time we don’t even have to ask, they hear us on the radio and come to help us. We are very fortunate to have two fine officers here like Jared and Tyler. We feel like they’re just one of us here at Webster SO. Thank you men for all you do.

School burglaries
On the evening of February 20, 2026 Webster County Deputies arrested 33 year old Jakashea Cousins on 5 Felony Burglary charges after conducting an undercover surveillance operation at the East Webster High School campus in response to multiple vehicle burglaries that had occurred during recent EWSH sporting events. The operation involved EWHS Security Staff and the Webster County Sheriff Department. Bond was set at $101,110 and posted on February 22. I would like to report to you the citizens of Webster County that we had another very good court term in January. I would like to thank our ADA’s Rosalind Jordan and Tarek Johnson for an excellent job of prosecuting Webster County cases in court. They have done an excellent job for the citizens of Webster County in circuit court since they became our prosecutors and I am grateful for them.
On February 5 the ones convicted in circuit court were transferred to the state penitentiary at Parchman to begin their sentences.
I give you these reports on the things that happen related to law enforcement and the courts from time to time so you will know that we are doing our job and enforcing the law here in Webster County.

Thankfully,
As we look out on our great nation every day we see chaos and lawlessness in some parts of our country. It seems as some folks have just lost their mind if they had one to begin with.
I would like to thank Almighty God for allowing me to live in the best place in the world, Webster County MS.
Here we once again have law and order and we have the opportunity to live a peaceful life and raise our families.
Recently we had an ice storm and was without lights and water for several days but thankfully the people from the power companies got that going again so I would like to thank them.
Sunday night we had a bomb threat at the hospital that turned out to be false thanks be to Almighty God. Some have questioned my decision to have a Special Response Team here in Webster County. We saw why we need one Sunday night. The response by our SRT team was fast, efficient and thorough.
Thanks to them and all the other agencies and departments that come together quickly and worked like a well oiled machine, the threat was assessed quickly and verified to be false.
You see in all of life’s challenges Almighty God has blessed us and taken care of us here in this small rural county, Webster County, and most of all God has blessed us to live in the best place in the world.

Webster County, MS — The Webster County Sheriff’s Department extends sincere
appreciation to Friends of Law Enforcement #78 and the many individuals and
supporters whose contributions helped make the purchase of a state-of-the-art public
safety drone possible.
Friends of Law Enforcement #78 played a meaningful role in supporting the acquisition
of this advanced technology, demonstrating the power of community involvement in
strengthening rural law enforcement capabilities. Through the generosity of donors and
local supporters, the nonprofit helped bridge funding gaps that often delay or prevent
agencies from accessing modern public safety tools.
The drone will significantly enhance the Sheriff’s Department’s ability to respond to
emergencies, conduct search-and-rescue operations, locate missing persons, assist
during disasters, and support law enforcement operations across Webster County and
neighboring jurisdictions.
“This drone represents more than new equipment—it reflects the community standing
behind its law enforcement officers,” said representatives of the Webster County
Sheriff’s Department. “The support from Friends of Law Enforcement #78 and everyone
who contributed helped turn a critical need into a reality.”
The Webster County Sheriff’s Department expresses its heartfelt thanks to Friends of
Law Enforcement #78 and all who contributed to supporting the purchase of this drone
and strengthening public safety for the region.
