It's that time of year again where we need new officers to represent VFSA. We will be starting elections on Wednesday, April 24th and end Friday, April 26th at 5pm. If you are interesting in running please contact us at [email protected]. Below are the positions available and there descriptions.
1. President (Required) – Facilitates, oversees, and conducts meetings, including what meeting rules are going to be followed.
Provides guidance and leadership on the direction and goals of the club.
2. Vice President – Performs the function of the President in the absence of the President. Conducts/enforces weekly meetings, advocates for VFSA, oversees all committee leads, and fills in other officers when needed.
3. Meeting Coordinator– Takes role, records the minutes of the meetings, and maintains club documents.
4. Finance Committee Officer– Tracks/Creates financial ledgers (Purchase Orders and fundraising), Submits annual AUSO budget proposal and attends annual budget hearing, writes, tracks, and organizes purchase orders, experience with Excel or similar program, Grant writing and business proposals, coordinates NatCon fundraising and payments, maintains organization’s bank accounts, collects or distributes any funds owed or due to the organization for extracurricular functions, collects/records/and deposits money raised during fundraisers, reports to the president on the financial position of the club.
5. Public Relations Committee Officer – Assists Secretary and Treasurer with performing their functions. Also tracks and coordinates with committee heads, solely responsible to head the social committee. Works with Events and Scheduling and CIS, UO Printing, UO Radio, and Campus Event Calendar. Social Media Management and promotion (including OrgSync). Creates posters/flyers for events, fundraisers, etc. Updates/maintains OrgSync website and post events
6. Community Outreach Committee Officer – Volunteer Coordinator, service project opportunities, works closely AUSO Veterans Representative and with fundraising team to make connections, attends meeting such as VetNet, ASUO senate hearings, etc. Maintains communications with Western Oregon University, Lane Community College, Umpqua Community College, and other colleges, reaches out to greek life and other ASUO organizations, visits other EMU spaces.
