AFFEC's Family Preservation Program focuses on keeping the family unit together. We believe these early and often preventative steps can make the difference between a family successfully parenting their children and losing them to the foster care system. Effective family preservation efforts could keep many children from the trauma of entering foster care.

Mentor Program Goals

Started in 2006, AFFEC’s Mentor Program mission has always been clear:

Connect youth in Lane County and Portland with positive members of their community to build friendships and have role models.

To provide youth with someone who may provide support and guidance

To provide support and connection for youth and help those transitions they may experience (transition back home, transition to adulthood, etc.)
