☀️ DAYTIME RESPITE SITE 💨

📅 AUGUST 4TH – AUGUST 7TH
🕙 10AM–7PM
📍LANE COUNTY EVENTS CENTER MEETING ROOM #1.

In response to the high heat and poor air quality, St. Vincent de Paul has activated a daytime respite site.

- Adults 18+ who are unhoused or inadequately housed for this weather event are welcome (Youth and families can access alternate spaces listed here: https://lanecountyor.gov/cooling)
- Masks, PPE, snacks, food, and water will be available.
-Pets are welcome to join owners onsite
- 🚌 Free LTD rides to cooling centers! Tell your bus operator you're traveling to a cooling center.

🔥 NEVER leave your pets in hot cars! Even with the windows cracked, temperatures inside can skyrocket in minutes, putting your furry friends at serious risk of heatstroke and even death.

Pets can’t cool down as easily as humans. Just a few minutes in a hot car can be life-threatening.

When it’s hot outside, leave your pets at home or take them with you when you leave the car.

🚐 Mobile Crisis Services of Lane County is expanding!
Mobile Crisis Services (MCS) is now providing 24-hour crisis response Monday through Thursday, with services available 6:00 AM–11:00 PM Friday through Sunday.

When someone is experiencing a behavioral health crisis, trained crisis professionals can respond where they are, at home, in the community, or wherever support is needed.

In 2025, MCS:
📍 Responded to 5,785 dispatches across Lane County
💙 Helped 75% of individuals remain safely in their current setting, avoiding unnecessary emergency department visits or hospitalization whenever appropriate.

✅ Visit a local cooling center or spend time with friends who have AC. Find a full list here: lanecountyor.gov/cooling
✅ Cool off with water: place a damp towel on your head, take a refreshing shower, or enjoy a dip in a pool, splash pad, or water fountain.
✅ Stay in the coolest parts of your home, like the basement or a shaded area, during the hottest times of day.
