Acorn Park Little Free Library #1302

Acorn Park Little Free Library #1302 We are Little Free Library #1302, located in the Acorn Park Neighborhood of Eugene, Oregon. How Does This Library Work? Whose library is this? Anyone can use it.

This Little Free Library offers a way to share good things to read—favorite books from your childhood or books you would recommend to friends; books that teach, intrigue and engage you. All of us can help by keeping this collection stocked with good reading material. It belongs to everybody -- neighbors, friends, and people we don’t even know yet. That’s why we want to take care of it. Take a book

. If you see something you would like to read, take it. Look inside and see who gave it; who else has read it. Share it. Return it to any Little Library or pass it on to a friend. Give books. Leave notes in them. Be a friend of all libraries by helping any way you can. Pay it Forward! We support reading for children, literacy for adults, and libraries around the world. Please don't drop off boxes of books on the porch. We simply don't have room to store them. Feel free to slip them, subtly, one or two at a time, into the reading stream via the library! Our new library box will be ready very soon. We would like to decorate it with the first sentences from our patron's favorite books. Send us yours!

Our sweet little library is looking rather the worse for wear these days. Coming soon: a brand-new box with super-cool upgrades!

We're sad to pass along the news that the founder of the LFL movement, Todd Bol, has died at the age of 62.

We're sad to pass along the news that the founder of the LFL movement, Todd Bol, has died at the age of 62.

Todd Bol launched the freestanding receptacles for books in 2010 as a tribute to his mother, who was a teacher.

Just 20 minutes a day of reading this summer can help your student do better this fall!

We are halfway through summer vacation 😊- a good time to renew efforts to curb your student's "summer slide" (i.e. loss of achievement gains). Top of every summer slide prevention list: Read! Even just 20 minutes a day will make a difference.

I've added a new Reward Tier to our Patreon: New Library Special Patron.
"Subscribe at this tier and you will be doing something more: Contributing to a fund that will help us rebuild the library entirely. Our original 2012 library box has had a good run but is falling apart! I would like to completely rebuild it. I can do this next summer with the funds you will help raise!

You will receive: A special plaque with your name on it on the new library box with the title "Community Literacy brought to you in part by the generous donations of [YOUR NAME]." Isn't that cool?"
