LOCAL (Liberation of Communities and Land) is now accepting applications for the Fall Rise as Leaders Environmental Leadership Training Cohort. We are looking to recruit passionate BIPOC high schoolers to learn about environmental and climate justice organizing in an 8-week intensive program. This free program offers in-depth education, community connection, access to future leadership opportunities and a cash stipend for your time!
LOCAL is a collaborative project of Beyond Toxics and the NAACP; we are committed to building a Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) base of frontline communities that are most affected by environmental injustice and climate change and we are looking to grow our teams through this Cohort Program. This training was intentionally created by BIPOC organizers dedicated to climate and racial justice. We strongly encourage women, immigrants, people with disabilities, low-income, and LGBTQ BIPOC folks to apply.
This program will consist of 8 two-hour in-person sessions - held weekly beginning Saturday, September 24th, 2022 through November 12th, 2022. The program will be held at the Beyond Toxics office in the Eugene/Springfield area.
The application period closes September 18h, 2022 at 11:59 pm PST - if you have any questions about the application process or are curious about the Rise as Leaders Cohort Program or LOCAL Oregon please email us at [email protected]
