Summer is a super busy time for everyone, but it's important to remember that the need for blood donors is high. The summer season and lovely weather can increase the demand for donated blood. That's because fewer people donate while our region's trauma centers experience an increase in people needing emergency care. That's why, on behalf of our local hospitals, we're urgently seeking current and first-time donors to help keep our blood supply stable for local doctors and patients. Donating blood takes an hour (actual donation time is only about 10 minutes), and it's an incredible way to help those who have suffered trauma, cancer treatments, surgeries, bleeding disorders, and others in Western Washington and Oregon who rely on volunteer blood donors.
