Today, we pause to honor and remember.

We remember those who gave their lives in service to our country as part of the United States Armed Forces. Their courage, dedication, and sacrifice protected our freedoms and safeguarded our communities. Their loss is profound, and their service is a lasting legacy.

Today—and every day—we remember their sacrifice, honor their commitment, and give thanks for the freedoms we enjoy because of their bravery. Their courage will never be forgotten.

Don’t wait. Cure today! If you received a letter from the Lane County Elections Office challenging the signature on your returned ballot, you have until Tuesday, June 9, to cure your ballot so that it can be counted.

Some of the common reasons that signatures don’t match the voter registration record are natural changes to handwriting as we age and injury to a voter’s hand or arm.

Challenged ballots must be corrected (or “cured”) within 21 days following an election. Voters with challenged ballots are notified by letter.

To correct a challenged ballot, the voter must:

✅ Sign and return an affidavit (included with the letter or available online). Voters are also asked, but not required, to provide a valid form of identification to make the curing process more efficient. If ID is not provided, the signature on your affidavit must match the signature on record.

Learn more about challenged signatures and the curing process at www.LaneCountyOR.gov/elections

If a ballot is not cured, the vote will not be counted.

Lane County has designated portions of Marcola Road and Clear Lake Road as new Safety Corridors in an effort to reduce fatal and serious injury crashes caused by excessive speed and impaired driving.

Beginning May 25, 2026, traffic fines within the designated corridors will be doubled for speeding violations. The enhanced fines will remain in effect through May 25, 2028.

📍 Marcola Road: Hayden Bridge to Parsons Creek Road
📍 Clear Lake Road: Territorial Highway to Green Hill Road

In recent years, both roads have seen multiple fatal and serious injury crashes, many involving excessive speed or driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

Lane County previously participated in a state pilot program on London Road that demonstrated safety corridors, combined with signage and public outreach, can significantly reduce deadly and serious crashes.

The goal of the Safety Corridor program is simple: save lives.

Please help keep our roads safe:
✔️ Slow down and plan travel times realistically
✔️ Never drive impaired
✔️ Put your phone down and focus on the road while driving

Everyone deserves to get home safely.
