Thank you to Senator Jeff Merkley for taking the time to meet with local small business owners at Cafe Soriah today.

More than 95% of businesses in our region are small businesses, and many are feeling squeezed by rising costs, constantly shifting regulations, and continued economic uncertainty. It was valuable to have the opportunity to share those real-world experiences directly with our federal delegation.

Senator Merkley had just returned from an all-night floor session in Washington, D.C., and we appreciate him still making the flight home and taking the time to listen to the concerns and priorities of Eugene-area business owners.

As a woman‑owned independent comic shop, Books With Pictures Eugene has created an inclusive, welcoming space that supports creativity and diverse voices while strengthening our local cultural landscape.

Hey, so, uh, cool news! We've been nominated (thanks to you!!) for the Will Eisner Spirit of Comics Retailer Award. It's a really big deal, actually. Kind of like the Oscars of Comics. We're beyond honored to even be nominated for this award...but we need your help to secure the nomination.

The nomination process requires that we submit a packet and video about our store, including pics of the shop, events, and the like. If you have any pictures or videos at any of our events, or would like to provide a brief statement about how we helped you, your organization or institution, we'd be super grateful. It will likely show up in the packet, and maybe even in the video (which will be publicly posted once it's done)
