🛣️ Street Improvement Open Houses

Have questions about Eufaula’s streets or the November 3 dedicated street sales tax election? The City of Eufaula will host two come-and-go open houses at City Hall where residents can learn more and ask questions about the proposal. Voters will decide whether to approve a 15-year 1% sales tax dedicated to street improvements.

Tuesday, September 22 | 5:00–6:30 PM
Tuesday, October 20 | 5:00–6:30 PM

City staff and the City Engineer will be available to:

• Answer questions about the proposed sales tax
• Review the citywide pavement assessment and current street conditions
• Discuss how streets are evaluated and prioritized
• Share information about potential street improvements and funding

There will be no formal presentation, so stop by anytime between 5:00 PM and 6:30 PM.

We encourage residents to stop by, review the information, and get answers to their questions before the November 3 election.

Update (11:07pm): Repair is complete. Customers should have normal water pressure over the next hour.

Water Alert: Customers may experience low to no water pressure from 9:30pm-Midnight as crews respond to an emergency water line repair.

🚛 New Equipment Expands Public Works Capacity

The City of Eufaula received a new dump truck today that will be used daily by Public Works, especially the water crew, as they maintain and repair the City’s water system.

The new truck gives the water crew a reliable piece of equipment for its day-to-day work while also expanding equipment available to Public Works. The crew’s previous dump truck, a 2006 model, will be reassiged to support street maintenance, asphalt work, and other road improvement projects.

By adding a new truck and continuing to make use of existing equipment, the City is increasing the capacity of both crews to complete work in-house and serve the community.

🚧 Larger Asphalt Repair at Cedar Ave. & Front St. 🛣️

Last Friday, Public Works completed a larger asphalt repair at Cedar Avenue and Front Street, replacing approximately 500 square feet of damaged pavement.

The work came on a day when the temperature reached 103°F. After approximately an hour-long trip from the asphalt plant, the hot-mix asphalt crews were placing and working with was likely still around 275°F or hotter.

Those are some tough working conditions. From preparing the repair area to placing, grading, and compacting the asphalt, our Public Works employees kept the project moving despite the extreme heat.

Projects like this also give our Street Team valuable hands-on experience with the City’s asphalt equipment and helps them continue improving their techniques and best practices as we expand our in-house street maintenance capabilities.

🔥 BURN BAN IN EFFECT – McINTOSH COUNTY 🔥

🚨 BURNING BAN IN EFFECT FOR MCINTOSH COUNTY 🚨

The McIntosh County Board of County Commissioners has officially issued a 14-day Burn Ban for McIntosh County, effective September 8, 2026, through September 22, 2026.

Due to dry conditions and elevated fire risk, ALL outdoor burning is strictly prohibited during this timeframe to protect our community, homes, and emergency responders.

🚫 What is NOT allowed:

Open burning, leaf/brush burning, and bonfire pits

Trash, yard debris, or agricultural burning

Uncontained outdoor fires of any kind

Our priority is keeping Eufaula and McIntosh County safe. Thank you for your cooperation and for doing your part to prevent wildfire threats!

🗑️ Residential Trash Pickup Schedule Change🗑️

Beginning Monday, September 14, all residential trash customers in Eufaula will have their trash picked up on Mondays. (This is for those who receive a bill from the City of Eufaula.)

Residential trash collection will continue on its normal schedule through the rest of this week.

📅 First citywide Monday pickup: September 14
🏠 Residential pickup: Every Monday
⏰ Please have your polycart out by 6:00 a.m. on Mondays.

NOTE: Commercial trash service will not change. Businesses will continue to be serviced on their existing schedules.
