Tonight at the Cherokee Nation Firefighters Banquet, two of our own — Zach Brauer and Gary Brauer — were honored with Firefighter of the Year awards in recognition of their hard work, dedication, and ability to act quickly when it matters most.

Chief Ronnie Ross nominated both firefighters earlier this year for this prestigious recognition. Out of 136 fire departments, this award is not one taken lightly, making this accomplishment even more meaningful.

We are incredibly proud of Zach and Gary for their dedication, selfless service, and commitment to our community. Their hard work does not go unnoticed, and we are honored to have them representing our department.

Congratulations to both of you, and thank you for everything you continue to do for this community.

I want to personally thank Blackout Window Tint and Customs for taking care of our 2026 CF Moto.

They got the emergency lighting and siren installed and tinted the windows—and I’ll be honest, this thing looks better than most of our fire trucks now. The tint might also help hide which one of us is riding in it on those long calls… and that’s probably for the best.

All jokes aside, they did a top-notch job. You can tell they take pride in their work, and it shows in every detail. This unit is coming together exactly how we hoped, and it’s getting closer every day to being 100% ready for service.

I truly appreciate the time and effort they put into helping us out. It means a lot to have people and businesses like this supporting what we do for our community
