The Estherville City Offices, Public Library and ECCOG will be closed on Monday, September 7, 2026 in observance of Labor Day. In addition, the Library and ECCOG will be closed on Saturday, September 5. The regularly scheduled Monday Council meeting will be held on TUESDAY, September 8 at 5 pm.

Great Emmet County business!

Armstrong-based Art's-Way Manufacturing Co., Inc. (Nasdaq: ARTW) just marked 70 years in business — and instead of slowing down, the company posted a 26% jump in first-half fiscal 2026 sales and 20% growth in operating income.

Part of that comes from working with Iowa State University 's CIRAS center to map its supply chain and reduce tariff exposure, a concrete local answer to a question a lot of manufacturers are asking right now.

What started in 1956 as one farmer's grinder-mixer, built to solve his own problem, is now a public company with its own listing page on Nasdaq's website — proof that a 70-year-old business can still be a growth story, not just a legacy one.

Whether you're shopping local, heading to lunch, or enjoying downtown Estherville, please remember that wheeled devices are not permitted on sidewalks within the central business district (Estherville Code of Ordinances, Sec. 820.17).

Prohibited on downtown sidewalks:
❌ Bicycles & E-bikes

❌ Electric & Kick Scooters

❌ Skateboards & Skates

❌ Toy vehicles & micromobility devices

(If you're riding through downtown, please use the street or dismount and walk your ride while on the sidewalk!)

Allowed exemptions:
✅ Wheelchairs, motorized mobility devices, and walkers

✅ Strollers and wagons used for infants/children

✅ Equipment for snow removal or active construction
