The Estherville Fire Department would like to express its gratitude to the Emmet County Cattlemen's Association for their generous donation and for hosting an event for all Emmet County fire departments last Friday, despite the inclement weather.

We also appreciate the support of Fareway and the public in supporting our departments and the Emmet County Cattlemen's Association.

The Estherville fire department was requested by the Jackson fire department to assist in the search for an 11-year-old child who wandered off near the Des Moines River yesterday.

The Estherville fire department deployed their boat and UTV at Neppl’s bridge to search the West Bank of the river.

Aerial support was also provided to aid the search and rescue efforts.

The child was found safe and sound next to the road approximately an hour into the search.

The Estherville Fire Department recently underwent training on vertical ventilation, a critical skill for saving property and lives in hazardous structure fire situations.

This training also enhances firefighter safety during firefighting and search and rescue operations.

We appreciate PRI for providing this training.
