🚨 Estancia Police Department – Public Information Release
On March 25, 2026, the Estancia Police Department received a call regarding an individual walking along a public street carrying what appeared to be a metal bar. A witness reported the individual walked past their residence and onto a neighboring property. The witness stated their son asked the individual to leave, and the individual complied.
Officers contacted the neighboring resident, identified as Randy Sanchez, and checked the property. The individual was not located, and no evidence of criminal activity was found at that time.
On March 28, 2026, the Estancia Police Department became aware of a Facebook post reporting a battery incident that allegedly occurred on March 25, 2026, involving Randy Sanchez, Hanna Sanchez, and a juvenile.
During the follow-up investigation, officers conducted interviews with all involved parties. Investigators determined that hours after the initial police response on March 25, allegedly the same individual was again walking on a public roadway near the involved parties. It was reported that Randy Sanchez, Hanna Sanchez, and the juvenile drove to the individual’s residence and physically assaulted him using a wooden object and a pipe.
As a result of the investigation:
-Randy Sanchez was charged with Aggravated Battery and Aggravated Assault
-Hanna Sanchez was charged with Aggravated Battery
-Charges involving the juvenile have been referred to the Juvenile Probation Office and the District Attorney’s Office for review
In both cases involving Randy Sanchez and Hanna Sanchez, probable cause was found, and the cases have been bound over to District Court.
Throughout the investigation, officers found no evidence that the victim had committed any crime.
